If you get the order in the order bank for 2005 and if not pulled for 2005 production it will be the first order in for the 2006 model year. c/u 12-13-04

No, your order is cancelled. You have to re-order and go through this all again. From what I hear there is no price protection or place at the head of the line.

Rich, you are in the same boat as I am. However, the VP of Ford Marketing promised me I'll have the car by summer. I really, really hope he is correct. I ordered 12/16.

Jwede, are you sure about that? I'll e-mail my dealer to corroborate that...

He asked me about ordering an 06 and those were the two reasons I gave him why I didn't want to. He didn't say otherwise. I read on another thread the same info. May Karpro can chime in.

I was promised an April build date as well. I haven't found anything out that would lead me to not beleive him. Only time will tell. :bang:

Keep the faith fellow-Kansan! I went visiting several places last weekend to see if any dealers were even getting GTs - didn't see any - Bob Allen, Olathe, Louisburg. None to be found, just V6 models.

No news to report, but now the salesman and his manager, who thinks the deal I got is acceptable, must speak with the general manager (at the weekend manager's insistance) to get permission to order the car as I want it.

Truth be told, I'd be willing to pay MSRP at this point! I may have to in order to get the car I want. The salesman told me they have an allocation available. I just think they want to squeeze more money outta me. (I admire their tenacity, but I feel exploited to some degree.)

I'll give them one more day to give me the green light. If they decline the deal we originally struck, I may tell them to order the darn thing anyway and I'll just fork over MSRP. Ouch! But what else can I do except wait for a 2006 in a color I'm not happy with?

He wanted Sonic Blue, and it's not available for 2006. It's being replaced with Vista Blue (whatever that is).

Hey Dave,

All I know is Torch Red, Sonic Blue, Legend Lime, Satin Silver and Black are being discontinued for model year 2006. Torch will be replaced with Colorado Red, Sonic will be replaced with Vista Blue, Satin will be replaced with Titanium, Lime will be replaced with Lime Gold and Black will be replaced with Ebony.

We already know what Titanium Silver looks like; it was the color of the 2004 show car. It's reasonable to assume that Ebony is just another name for black. The thing that's got everyone guessing is what Vista Blue and Colorado Red look like. There's just so many unknowns right now! What I'd like to know is what does "Lime Gold" look like? I'm sold on the Legend Lime, but if I knew for certain what Lime Gold looked like, and preferred it over the Legend Lime, it would be wiser to wait and order an '06 MY. Lately I've found myself wishing I were color blind.

There's been a lot of chatter about colors coming and going, but I haven't seen actual chips yet. I'm pretty sure we'll see what these colors look like on this site before any other!

Chris

IIRC someone posted that Colorado Red has the same paint code as Torch Red.

If true that would mean the color is the same just the name changed. Ford does that a lot, same color different names.

From: Pacific Northwest
Chris,

I'm chiming in a little late here, but the sales manager from whom I bought my car told me they had used up their 2005 allocation on orders. He said they are actually turning people away (hard to believe) unless they want to order an '06. This is at the largest volume dealership in Washington state, so they are drying up (no pun intended) in the Pacific Northwest, too.

By the way...thank you Karpro for your information. I was concerned that the dealership might try to bump my buying price based on the latest increases. Based on your statements, it doesn't look like they should be able to do that.

Yeah, things are starting to look a little bleak here too. Although I'm keeping my spirits up. I'm probably going to offer the dealer a higher figure than we agreed upon. It may persuade them to grant one of their remaining allocations. If not, I guess I may be one of first TMS members to get an '06, in one color or another! With each passing day, the color seems less important to me than getting the car itself.

You're right about Karpro. Paul ought to get TMS Member of the Year Award!
He offers priceless advice and no-nonsense wisdom.

Thanks, buddy! I needed a laugh badly...

Oh, and Dave: I'm not sure about the Mineral Gray. I only knew about the colors I mentioned above because I saw them listed somewhere on this site. I think it was in the GT timeline page for 2006. Take a peek and see if it's there. (I would but I'm about to leave work!) Gotta go...
