Since the dealers in this area were all charging at least $5k over MSRP , I ordered mine at sticker and got it in about two months.

And I ordered it exactly how I wanted it. I figure after waiting for it for 30 years, it better be right!!

 

I swore I would never own another black car.

 

I ordered mine and received it after a 6 month wait. Now, get this! Part way through the wait I nearly gave up so I also ordered a 2006. It was early and was in line to be made and delivered probably in early September. Then I learned the 2005 was going to make it so I decided to tkae the 2005 instead of the 2006. The dealer then canceled the 2006 order!!!!! It was a Premium GT Vert with all the options and they canceled the order!!! Are you kidding me?

I ordered my car on October 20 2004 and took delivery on December 28 with X-Plan.
I was planning on buying a car off the lot but when I mentioned X-Plan I was told that I would have to order the car, which is what I did.

Of course I could have picked up one off the lot, but I figured the car was worth the wait so I would get exactly what I wanted and save at least $5000 (dealer markup) when I got the car.

 

Just picked up my ordered '06 Friday. Delivered 6 weeks after I ordered it and paid just $199 over dealer invoice. Very happy !

Originally order from another dealer 06/04. When the car arrived the GSM turned into a big large guy in Austin Powers. Lucky we walked into a another dealership a few days later and bought one that was ordred for someonelse who could not take delivery.

 

Bought off lot. Had started looking at the beginning of July and was checking dealer inventory from web. Had heard dealers stopped taking orders. No dealers within a 2 hour radius had what I wanted. On a whim, went to local dealer on a Saturday morning and sitting right in front was exactly the car I wanted - color, options - the whole package. There was no way I was leaving the dealership without it. Found out it just came in the night before and they didn't have time to update their inventory yet. Fate? Luck? In any case, got what I wanted.

 

DEaler trade which did myself. Scoped the car out the day before while on a run for the dealer. It was the only one in Ontario with the iup in the colors and transmission I was looking for.

 

Ordered mine Oct 04 and picked it up Feb 05 two days after having back surgery. It hurt but, it was worth the pain. Dealer couldn't believe I stopped in straight from the Hospital.

 

Ordered January 2, 2005 . . . took delivery May 28, 2005.

Ordered on 12/22/04 from a Pacific Northwest Dealer, waited and waited. Listened to the bad news of the ERL week after week. Finally accepted that the dealer had no allocations and went shopping. Found the same car I had ordered, with some bonuses, IUP, side airbags, etc., from a northern California dealer on Ford Vehicles dot com. Paid a bit more, but have been enjoying it since April 05. My wife and I flew to San Francisco, picked up a rental, drove to Davis, picked up our new Windveil Blue GT and drove it back to Seattle. A road trip I'll never forget. When you want something as bad as I wanted our 05 Stang you'll go to any length to get it.

 

I ordered mine in July '04 on A-Plan. Waited...and waited...and waited. Dealer kept telling me "Real Soon Now!". Finally in February he admits defeat in getting an allocation for me from Ford, tells me to go shopping, refunds my deposit. The next day I find almost exactly my car at Roy O'Brien in St. Clair Shores, MI. One of three identical cars they received, this one was free becuase the person who had dibs on it priced himself out of contention with his rather reckless driving habits. It had a Shaker 1000 instead of the 500 I ordered and no ICAP, but I dig black leather too. Picked it up on A-Plan.

So it worked out OK.

 

Walked onto the lot, November 29...
Drove away one hour later with only 3 miles on the speedo.

It had been ordered by one of the salesman for his daughter as a present and between the time ordered and delivered he quit, she bought a honda.

I was going to order, was just looking at them when wife said "Do you like the color, do you WANT that one?" then proceeded to say "Merry Christmas early"

 

So did I.

 

Originally ordered a 2005 Sonic Blue GT (fully loaded minus the Shaker 1000) but it quickly became a 2006 due to dealer allocation. I was upset cause I knew from the moment I saw a Sonic Blue (even more so when Ford discontinued the color) it was the color I wanted. So last month on a whim I punched in a zip code of the town in Florida I was going to be in and found an 05 Sonic Blue GT there. Not exactly what I wanted to the T but I didn't care, it was a Sonic Blue GT and I've had NO REGRETS!

 

Ordered June '04... Wanted what I wanted! :stubborn:
