as for me, i purchased it while it was in transit...got to deal with the brand new "Hey, your car arrived at the dealer" without the wait :P

 

I tried to find one..but the only Legend Lime in the area was a base deluxe...I was able to order mine and get it for about 2k under msrp..

Of course they try and push you to buy one on the lot..and it is tempting..I can't justify spending so much money and not getting exactly what you want...

 

Lucky dog. I waited 3 months.

Sister-in-law found a match on one of her dealer's lots (she's a Ford dealer rep)...

So... no wait, and got A plan

 

Ordered what I wanted and waited 18 weeks.

 

Got mine off the lot, almost exactly like I wanted her, the only exception being the Shaker 1000 (I would have been perfectly happy with the 500, extra trunk space and a thousand and some odd dollars still in my pocket...)...

 

Had to order because of the options I wanted.
There's no way a dealer was going to order one like mine for a regular stock order.
That, and I got the best price in the country!

 

I ordered mine on the first day they would allow me to, 9-16, the day prices were posted. The dealer didn't know anything about the '05's yet.
Car came in, in exactly eight weeks. $499 over invoice. The next four GT's sold at that dealer went for $7k over MSRP.

 

Bought mine off the lot for $3000 over sticker

I got the "shaft" plan w/o lube.

 

Ordered mine the first part of June on x plan and got it on Dec. 1st.

 

Pretty much the same for me. They had one with all the options I wanted, with the Shaker1000 (which I didn't need) and the side airbags which I wasn't specifically looking for. Ended up paying a little more than the people who order but it's nice to go from "I think I'll buy a new car" to "I think I'll go for a drive in my new car!" within the span of a couple of hours. I'm a sucker for instant gratification.

 

Ordered 8/9/04, picked up 11/20/04

 

Ordered mine in Dec., got it in March. First time ordering a car and it's the best feeling, when it comes in! Got it at Xplan, so the wait was all worth it.

I got mine from a buying service from whom I've ordered several cars in the past. In this case they had several GTs in stock including one configured exactly the way I wanted. I had it delivered to a local dealer and picked it up in December.

 

Ordered on 9-11-2004 x-plan
Had dealer put it on a priority 99 on 10-04-2004 due to financial concerns.
Released dealer to change back to priority 10 on 12-28-2004.
Took delivery on 05-05-05 @ 5:00 PM.

 

I voted "Other" because I found almost exaclty what I wanted on my dealer's inventory listing at fordvehicles.com, but the car wasn't actually on the lot. It arrived 4 days after I left my deposit.

The only option I wanted that it doesn't have is the factory anti-theft system, but the dealer installed one for me.

 

Ordered from two Dealers. First 10/4/04, waited til 11/11/04 & never received VIN#. Reordered same car 11/11/04 from another Dealer, received car 12/30/04.Got Z plan pricing.

I ordered mine, it should arrive at my dealership 09/21/05.

 

Had one on order for 12 weeks with no vin # or dealer updates, found one at another dealer (same color and options). It was in transit, 5 days later the car arrives and they they give me the same discount as the car that was on order

Drove my new Mustang to the other dealer to get my deposit back,
they were not happy campers.
