About halfway through the show, 'Closing Bell" on CNBC 927, they showed a Ford employee lady working in the Red leather interior of a black mustang GT. I looked at it several times, and those outside mirrors are painted silver. I don't recall seeing this as part of the IUP, but it probably is.

I don't know if I like it better than the stock black mirrors (which is the kind of plastic that wax stays on forever)

I will probably do mine body color.

I don't think the exterior mirrors would be part of the interior upgrade package, but who knows. I like mine black and hope they stay that way.

 

Did they have plastic covers over them to keep from getting scratched on the assembly line?

 

No, I looked very closely, and it is quite obvious that the mirrors and mounts are painted silver. It almost looked like the silver"chrome" paint you buy at the hobby store.
Basically the whole triangle corner of the side window was silver.
