Did Ford design the 05 for 40 and over
OK, I believe Ford did a lot of research and designed the 05 with the older crowd in mind. If so this was probably a very smart thing as we see by how fast the cars are selling. What do you think. Im 49 and they sure hooked me.
Well, I'm only 31, but until now the only mustang body style I liked was the late 60's, althouh I think the main reason for that is my dad's always been into muscle cars and the cars of the 50's and 60's, so it kinda got passed down to me.

41 here and the 05 Mustang is the only car I've drooled over in years...

I think Ford did a great job designing the '05 to appeal to all age groups. My 75-year-old mother even likes it. But then she thinks sedans are for "old ladies".
I don't think age matters a lot with the 05. I think every age group that loves it. I'm 17 and haven't liked the look since the 60's mustangs, but after the 05 came out I want one real bad and now the recent mustangs don't look that bad to me either.
I was born the week the car debuted at the World's Fair in New York, held about 60 miles west of where I grew up, so I can't help but think there's some sort of cosmic connection!
I've loved the car for years, but only got my first in '96. Since then, I've had a '95 V6 coupe, a '96 GT coupe and an '01 V6 coupe. They just keep getting better with age! Like me. Cough...gag...barf

I'm a 1962 model year myself (42)... I've owned 5 Mustangs since I was 24... New - 85' LX (2.3-Manual, dog!), New - 89 LX 5.0 Sport (still have this car), Beater 85 GT- work car, New - 03 GT Vert and now a new 05 GT... I'm a su cker for Mustangs...
I'm 47 & it sold me. But I have to say this. Cruising around, I've had high schoolers of all years, "AND" elementary school kids point with their eyes popped out & their jaws dropped shouting "Whoa-o-o-o" as I drive by. I thought they'd be more into the tuner (ricer) cars myself. There's hope for our future maybe after all

I'm 21 and I've been salivating over this car ever since the initial concept sketchings surfaced. But, I love pretty much all Mustangs. Except a certain style that surfaced in the '70s which shall go unnumbered.
Fastly approaching 40, My screen name says my age.
Honestly they designed it for everybody. They took what used to be cool about cars, and integrated it into a modern platform.
More modern cars lack character, they put it back in

I'm 48 and it's the ONLY car that has made me immediately stop in my tracks that I can remember. So far as being for just over 40......well.....my son in law flipped over it......he's 26. My 2 daughters as well. My youngest wanted to drive it as soon as I got it home. Why not!! She was gleaming when she came home after 20 minutes. I pass 2 high schools on my way to work, and alot of the kids have recently developed whiplash for some reason....I wonder why. Actually 1 of em has a white V6 that I have seen a young student park by the school. Not to mention the kids at the gas station....the 7-11, the people asking me to "smoke 'em" on the highway........my co-workers....all various ages BTW. I say just for over 40???? Nah!!
BTW I feel younger again too.......all I can say is this car ROCKS!!
and to think.....I almost traded my 99 Accord in for the 05 model.......I'm shuddering at the thought........

Well,
I just turned 39 if that counts. My interest in cars started when around 1987 when the pontiac Fiero was out for a few years. I just flipped over that car. I ended up buying the V6 not GT but SE around 1988 if I recall. I was told by many people it was a piece of crap but I didn't care cause it looked great and felt like a little race car. Boy were they right! My next interest was the Ford probe which I should have bought the 6 but I got the 4. It was nice for that time period. Since the late 80's I have seemed to have a thing for sports cars but not necessarily high performance. I never had a thing for Mustangs in specific. Was more into the sleeker vette style look. More recently the sports car thing was starting to fizzle and I was starting to want more space and comfort. I was even starting to think about a 4 door. Well being I am single with no kids and no girlfriend I said what do I need a vehicle with so much room? Then my friend had saw some pictures of the 2005 mustang way before it came out and told me it looked killer. After seeing it at the car show about 10 month ago I said that is my next car! Not only does it look great its much higher off the ground then the typical sports car which I now prefer. It has plenty of room, even the back is not terrible. It is the most comfortable feeling car in every aspect that I have driven and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. To answer your question the styling is taken from the late 60's and anyone back then who drove a mustang would find this years car very appealing and bring back mermories so I guess they possibly had that in mind.

Speaking as a fifty something 05 G.T. owner I will say that I have not been a Mustang fan since 1970 but after seeing the concept Mustang at the NAIAS. in Detroit in 2003 I knew this was a car I had to have and now am a very proud owner. :worship: :worship:
I am 34 and have loved Mustangs since I can remember. My first was a 1980 that was a hand me down from my brother it didnt have an engine
then I got an 86 well after that I havent had one since 1990 and with being married and having children I didnt think I should have a Mustang, when the 94s came out I wasnt impressed, but as soon as I saw the 05s I was hooked and my wife kept urging me to go drive one. When I finally did I drove off the lot with it!
Gosh I love this car!

Bought my first Mustang when I was 38 and the wife has a 05 convert on order but I've always loved Mustangs since my parents had them. My brother and I spent a lot of time in the backseat of a 68 coupe. I remember a member of Team Mustang telling me they did a poll as to why Mustang was stekk selling and the Camero was dead. The most common answer was the Camero made you feel juvenile when you drove it but the Mustang made you feel young.
Iam 64.I had a 65 stang forty years ago followed by a 67 (390) ,a 69 (351W). Loved them all. Had an 85 GT and got rid of it Quickly. It and everything with a pony on it were only so-so till the 05 was introduced. I moved heaven and heck so I could get an 05. This car has the spirit and pizazz of the original ! If it was made for us old farts, then way to go Ford!!
