Besides the announced convertible and new color offerings, has any one
heard about new design changes to the 06 mustang.

For example are they going to offer a more aggressive
nose facia like the prototype?

Not likely and I have not heard about the convertible, how is the '06 different than the '05?

I think he considers the convertible a 2006. Also if there was info on the changes to the 2006’s they would be posted. We don’t withhold info on new models.

Oh, the vert is an '05. I also heard that the concept was designed after the design of the production version.

I think it would cost ford to much money to make any major body mods for a few years wouldn't it

I doubt there will be anything done at all with the '06 save for the new wheels.

'07 could have ultra-minor changes, a real S/E and the Cobra.

I would think the only change would be color and maybe hood lines.(scoop or concept)Somthing small but still a little diffrent. There almost alwasys seems to be somthing small from year to year.

Judging from history, aren't second-year models pretty much identical looking to the first-year models?

I think there is visually no difference between the 94 and 95 Mustangs. For that matter, from the outside there isn't much difference at all between 94-98, except for the tail lights that changed in 96, and the GT badging.

Then the only exterior change from the 99 model to the 2000 model year was different badging. 2001 had the significant changes - scoops, spoiler, headlights - and after that was pretty much the same through 2004.

So bottom line - the history says they don't change much, especially in the second year of production.

is the antenna powered currently ??? I forgot to look, how about body colored mirrors, that would not change any tooling just another step on the paint line. New wheels that is a given. different interior radio group or just another option like Sat Radio. Maybe a windshield radio antenna or a rear window one. How about better looming materials on the GT wiring in the engine bay (that would be nice).

Maybe a V6 sport edition that adds the rear sway bar and 17" wheels.

Maybe two new paint colors, I think there is already three Titanium, Gold/Lime and a new Green (Forest or British Racing Green).

Mounting bracket for front plates on the GT or at least two pre-tapped holes with optional plugs

An optional sticker group add-on for the GT, like the GT300 rocker panel stripes

Order option splitting the side airbags from 18G. So that you can order the Side Air Bag option (which gets you the soft door panels) without having to also order the complete MY COLOR option and trim.

That is about all I can think of for 2006

Its all speculation now but I imagine the changes for 06 will be very minor. I dont think ford would boost power or do anything major until 07 at the very earliest. The car is selling too fast as it is and there havent been too many complaints about it.

There is a body molding difference behind the front wheels of the 94 & 95. The 94 is round on the end and the 95 is flat. I think something that small would be about it for the 06.

The only 2006 model that will get any changes will be the SE for that year, and even those changes might be really small (remember the Spring Edition GT from 2000?)

If they did make any changes, I would like to see them return to the round turn signal lights on the fronts of the cars. Kinda like the old 64 - 68 Mustangs. It looks like the concept Mustang had them but they changed them for the acttual production. Just a thought.
