Just trying to see if there's a correlation between what you paid for your cars and the amount of time it has taken for them to be delivered.

Wouldn't it have helped to have under 8 weeks delivery. Besides, 8 week delivery is fairly common, not to mention the delay for those who ordered before production even started. Mine situation was x-plan, ordered Sept 21 and took delivery Nov 26. Barely 8 weeks, but production wasn't even fully ramped up yet when I ordered.

I agree with Radman. I paid $1,500 under MSRP and got mine in 7 weeks.

I made the assumption that anyone who paid less than MSRP would be happy with their 8 week or less delivery time.

Your assumption is correct I'm extatic! I have a couple of friends who ordered their's in November and still havn't received them. Have your ordered one yet? If so, what are you going to get? By the way, you've also got a great looking car.

Yes, I did order a Mustang GT on Feb 6. It is redfire 5-speed with...

--active anti-theft
--Int Color Accnt
--IUP
--wheel locks
--side airbags

X planned, but so far, dealer won't cough up any info on a build date. They originally told me it would be built next month, but no proof of that happening from them. All I have is a VOC sheet.

Thanks for the kudos. The RX8 is a very fine car. Unfortunately, it met with an untimely demise at the hands of a "yahoo" driving a Dodge RAM.

I know there are only 18 votes so far, but what I suspected is true, looks to be exactly right.

Most dealers say that orders take between 6-8 weeks. I'd bet that if you ordered a Focus, that you would indeed have only a 6-8 week wait.

Here comes the Mustang. At least the GT is a hot selling number. So, what I suspect is that dealers are putting their order priority higher for cars that they are making more money on (MSRP or above). The pole sort of verifies my theory.

83% of the respondents (so far) who paid under MSRP or who used a Ford special pricing plan have had to wait longer than the usual 8 week lead time.

My guess is, dealers are putting their priorities on units they can put on their lot and sell for MSRP (or above) and add pure profit addendum stickers. At the very least, they are putting higher priorities on GTs for those who paid MSRP or above when they order.

Bought mine with Z plan (about $3,800 under MSRP) and should get it in about 8 weeks (maybe this Friday!). But, 4 of those weeks, they were not making the verts yet. So, I feel very good about it. :headbang:
