I finally got a build date for the week of December 13.
For those of us that have build dates for the the month of December, prior to the plant shut down for the Holidays what's the chances of getting our cars before the end of the year?

I was told that it looks like my car will be built before the holiday shut down and that, once it is built, it is in the hands of the rail delivery company. The best (safest) estimate my dealer could give was that I will get my car in early January. I was told to give him a call closer to Christmas and he will check status and give me a better idea of when to expect delivery.

Thanks for thr information. I see from you signature line that you ordered your car a few days after I ordered mine, and we have a build date close together.
I'm going to talk to the dealer tomorrow and see what they say about when the car will come in (late December or early January).
I'll let you know what they tell me.

I have the same build week and have my fingers crossed for delivery prior to or on New Year's Eve. Other than that I don't have any more info. I ordered 10/22, it was submitted to the plant on 10/25, and scheduled for build the week of 12/13. Here we go!

My build date got pushed back to 11/29 and they gave an ETA delivery date of the 8th of December. Maybe a week and a half to two weeks is what they're getting now.

Join the club amn. Iordered 10/18, and still don't have anything either. Meanwhile, I sold my mustang 10/15. Luckily I've got a company car, a chevy cargovan.

I ordered my car on 10/20 and picked up my VIN and DORA on 11/4, and was told that my car had a 10/27 build date. when in reality the car was on a Temp Delay up until 11/30 when the car was scheduled for build the week of 12/13.

When I talked to the dealer last week (before the build date was issued) they said my car was still on a delay, but their computer showed a 1/1 date, and when I talked to Ford last Thursday they said the car was serialized awaiting scheduling, and mentioned a 12/20 date.

The dealer told me today that it usually takes around 1 to 2 weeks for delivery once the car is built, so it looks like the car will be built between 12/13 and 12/17. shipped 12/20 with delivery in early January, that's if I'm correct on what the dates mean.

It would be nice to get the car before the end of the year, but if it comes in January that's fine too.

I agree. I would be very happy if my car arrived before the end of the year - but I am assuming that I'll get it in January. Good luck, let's keep our fingers crossed.

I have 2 identical cars ordered. One was ordered 10/06/04 and i have no VIN or build date. The other was ordered from a different DLRSHP. on11/11/04 and has a VIN & build date of week 12/13. So who knows what goes on or how the build status is determined. My dealership on car#2 is only about 25mi from the factory so maybe I will get lucky and have it by Xmas.

Ordered 10/10. The GM has been good in contacting me. As of a week ago, the dealership did not have a build date, etc for any of the six Mustangs ordered at about the same time. Just my opinion, but I think with the IUP situation and the supply problems for the spoiler for December, the build date may be hopefully the first half of January but this is purely a guess on my part. The GM said he had contacted some other dealers who were in the same fix

Thanks for the info guys. I ordered my car on 11-22-04, still no VIN or build date. I guess I am doomed to wait till Feb, based on your guys's estimates. Oh wellBirthday is near the end of Feb anyway.

I ordered mine on 11/22/04 as well and haven't received a vin or build date either. I was told from the begining to expect the car at the end of Jan. begining of Feb.

Ordered 10/19, VIN 3 weeks later, built last week (redfire GT, manual, IUP, everything but shaker 1000), heard yesterday ready to be shipped with ETA 12/13-12/20, but believe it when I actually see it. Amazing the discrepancy between order dates and the rest of the process. Good luck to those still waiting for good news.
