Dear Ford,
Thank you so much for developing a fantastic vehicle in the S197 platform Mustang. It's a HUGE improvement over the previous generaton SN-95 cars in all areas, fit and finish, interior, exterior options, engine, NVH, everything...
One question though...
Once the center console was designed and finalized, was it ever installed in a test mule with a manual transmission? And if so, did the test driver ever take on the road, oh... I dunno, a 20 oz. bottle of water?
If so, did he actually have human arms, or did he like banging his elbow into the water bottle everytime he shifted from 3-4?

I can't find a comfortable seating position that, when either cup holder is occupied, it doesn't become extremely akward to shift.
I just get a water bottle, close the lid real tight and put it in the passenger seat.

Holds a longneck just fine with no false bottom. LOL.

better lay off that juice while driving
Back in April 2004 at the Nashville show there were two Mustangs on display (white & red) with a Ford engineer assigned to them. I was fortunate enough to be allowed to sit in the red Mustang. It was a five-speed. The engineer had his Mountain Dew in the cup holder. I asked him if this was the final positon of the shifter and cup holders...the bottle was in the way of shifting. He would not say one way or the other; however, he pointed out that the **** was not fixed to the shaft. The **** was a ball shape and just lifted off. I know the **** on my Mustang is different and I think the shaft is shorter. Yes, my Mountain Dew was in the way initially; I guess I have adjusted to it. MOST IMPORTANT, what FUN it is to drive this car. Ford hit a homerun with the S197!!!!!! FORD FOREVER!!!!

I cant figure out why there are no pockets in the seat backs!
just think of all the stuff you could put in those!
storage is sorely lacking in the cabin area
otherwise I am VERY happy with this car!!!

I only store one thing in my car , and that's my **** in the driver's seat. Everything else is unimportant!!!
Took me about a month, but now I can find my seat posn. pretty easily. The only beef I have as regards seating is how the seat fliping fwd has no index, no memory. My ex- girlfriend's Grand-Am coupe had one of these, why not on the 05 Moo-tang? This is made worse by tht efact the seat is not power back, so its not very precise...What does it have like 3 vertical positions???
Otherwise the seats are fine, arms, everything. Snug, easy. Feels like a proper grand tourer, not like some rollerskate.

Isn't that a wonderful thing? Ever since I have discovered that the bottom has not been replaced, I don't even know where it is!
