dealership sent refund of my deposit!
#1
Today- my dealership refunded my deposit because he couldn't get allocations to guarantee my requirement of delivery by June. I ordered Jan 4th. So this was week 9. He claims he is still trying to get my GT Coupe built but didn't want to hold the money in case he couldn't get it built. His March allocations were 0.
Gave me these stats: Of current production: 52% Convertible 48% Coupes with the breakdown V8 to V6. 38% vs 62%.
FMC introduced the convertible and is building them at the expense of pending orders, GTs or V-6's.
I took the refund and went to the GM dealer and ordered a C6 Corvette.
May again run into allocation problems.
I'll take the first car that shows up before June.
Either car will be a joy to drive.

Ummm, You are replacing your 05 order with a Vette order? Isnt that like replacing a apple with an orange?
Your in MI, youre saying that you cant find an MG GT anywhere in MI right now? I bet you could find one with everything cept the spoiler delete, and thats easy enough to fix.

I'm in Michigan visiting family. Today I stopped at the Grand Ledge dealer and they had two Torch Red GT's in the showroom. Neither had IUP, both Autos. They were selling both for MSRP. Just in case anybody is interested.....

Guess you sure can't go wrong ending up with one of those cars! Interesting, sounds like perhaps your dealer is being very upfront with you rather than stringing you along. How refreshing! Unless of course you ordered on a plan and he wants you to drop out so he can sell it for a bigger profit when it comes in. I have to quit being so negative.
Sounds like you have a good plan, good luck!

"Wow," Two within 10 miles, not very much at all, this is a pretty densely populated area and there are at least 4 Ford dealerships within 2-4 miles of my house any direction, lol. It's one thing to check on the net, quite another to go to the dealer and ask if they have a GT to test drive, I haven't been able to find any in person except a couple Saleens. I did that search too and it says my dealer has 12 V6's, no Gt's, and the V6's, they're just not there, maybe 3 or 4.

My dealer in Port Huron, MI always seem to have a gt in stock. It's always an auto (except for one manual trans), but they always have one and usually a 2 couple different v6's. I have seen every color there except for mineral grey.

Cool, maybe I should try outstate then. Probably 10 times more difficult to keep them in stock around here with tens of thousands of Ford employees running around with their A plans and all. They wouldn't let me test drive the one I found because it was sold and came in on a customer order.

Wow, I searched on Forddirect.com and found two within 10 miles of zip 48210. One is a Black on DC, 5 SPD Manual. The other is a Redfire.
Am I looking in the wrong zip?

i still cant believe people are having to wait to get the mustangs , and i cant believe people are actually paying as much as msrp or more either, i got my silver 05 gt prem in 3 days and only paid 100 over invoice, you all need to come down to houston lol

People have to wait if they are not willing to settle for what is on the lot.
I placed an order because I wanted to build this car my way.
I saw quite a few GTs in my efforts to find one on lots available for sale. Most of them had options I didn't want and wasn't willing to settle for. Tried to buy from local dealer who just was never going to have the allotments. My mistake.

Too bad about mustang, but if you really wanted one then you would have placed a order with someone else.So i guess its good that someone else who really wanted a mustang GT will have his/her dreams come true.
