Dealer's Logo/Decal - I Don't Want It
#41
Like most, I took mine off. I agree, NO free advertising...
If they are the little stickers, a little WD-40 will make short work of them. Just clean up afterwards with a good detergent...
P.S. DO NOT get the WD-40 on any logo or emblem that you want to keep. It will take the GT logo off just as easly....

i would do that same....btw tim, I bet ur dad was REALLY pissed. I would be too....I don't want emblems, stickers, or front tags. i want to put on my own front tag, not some stupid dealers one. car salesmen, imo, are PUSHY, ANNOYING, AND OBNOXIOUS. I checked my local dealer's inventory for a 2005 stang on the internet (they were all v6's), and i had to put in my info b4 i could...now they are callin me and emailing me left and right askin if i want to buy it. they called my house and asked if my dad was available. i said no, and they said "can I leave a message", and I said no. then they said, "ok, go get a peice of paper and write this down"...I said that's ok, we aren't interested at the time. She said, "well tell your dad to stop by and order his car later today", i said no and hung up. they inventory they gave me in the email was all 2004 v6 mustangs...we want a 2005 gt... when we go to browse the inventory, we have salemen following us around sayin "we would love you business and we would love to put u in this car right now, let's go for a test drive." it was nighttime and they were about to close, and the car was a v6.=, not v8, which is what we want. we go in the showroom to look at a gt, and then we see like 5 or 6 salesmen closing in on us like angry wolves...they are all sayin "come on, let's make a deal. we'll giva ya some good one. then my dad makes an off topic joke: "i'll have to ask my wife" then they say, no worries, you have 8 weeks to do that if u get the car. we just left.

yep, it's very small and rural, they probably do a decent amount of truck sales and thats it.

You're not going to let your salesman pop her cherry for you, are you?!

my '99 was driven to have aftermarket parts put on it when it arrived new 5 years ago (also a factory oder) so i'm not too worried about it. I will most likley go down and get it myself, depending on my work situation... since i will have to take the day off to get there before they close, if it's really busy, and i can't get someone to go down there with me to bring my '99 home, then i will have him drive it up here.

I fully intend to tell the dealer to not put their decal anywhere on the car and to also not put on the front plate.
I'd expect a montly fee from the dealer if they put advertising on my car.

I specifically told my dealer no logos or badging. The sales manager has a manilla folder only for my order with my name on it with all the paperwork on my car including contract, DORA, a copy of all the status reports I've picked up and so forth.
He wrote in huge letters "NO BADGING" all over the outside of the folder while I was standing there.
Hope they follow through or else they'll be taking it off.

i do not want a single emblem from any dealer....the only emblem I want is the mustang emblem...like I said, It is shameless self-promotion and scamming you out of advertising...i would also want a fee if they wanted to do that....the ones that peel off aren't as bad, but the metal ones...that is like stabbing someone...except when I say stabbing I mean ruining and someone I mean the car.

GO #6 !!!!! Just before reading this I saw Mark get taken out due to Harvick bump drafting Johnson in a turn. When I ordered the car, the guy told me their policy was not to put stickers or decals on the car - that they usually did the plate thing unless the driver objected.

Please tell me that you don't actually go to the dealer for an oil change.

ok, so how many of you folks REALLY ever went to look (or buy) a car at a specific dealer just because you saw that dealer's sticker or logo on the back of someone's car?

Had they put some advertising on mine, other than the plate frames, which are easily romovable, I would have told them to remove it or no sale. No way would I leave the lot with a dealers badge on my car.
