Does anyone know if we're allowed to tell our local dealer "do not place an advertisement (decal, emblem, plate frame, etc) on the back of my new car? I'm sure they try to get it on asap (maybe straight off the truck) but in my opinion they are either ugly or have a dumb name that just takes away from the car!
Who wants a plaque on their Stang?

Mine just pulled off. It was vinyl and ugly. The dealer is still pissed at me.
Course I didn't order mine, I got a lot lizard. BUT she was meant to be mine.....

I told my dealer when I ordered I didn't want any decals on my car. It's your car, you get it the way you want. I kept reminding him about this until I got the point across. No decals, but it didn't stop them from putting on those license plate brackets. I just went right home and took those off.

I'd just tell them not to put on or to take off any stickers that are on the body itself before you take delivery you can always remove the liscense plate frame later they will usually do that. but i would think if you tell them not to put on anything they would honor it.

Easy to take care of, and yes your dealer will fight it. I always tell them that I'll use their license plate bracket on the rear of the car until my permanent license plate comes in, but under no circumstances are they to install any stickers/emblems/logos on the car itself. When they start to fuss, and they will, ask them for a check made out in your name to cover the cost of advertising. Then remind them that if it appears on your car anyway, they will be required to remove it without damaging the paint or body of the car, no matter how long it takes, before you will accept delivery of the car. If they still fuss, assure them that you will ensure that no customer will buy a car when you are there as you will make quite a large fuss.
The last few won't happen, the advertising argument gets them every time.

Cool... I just figured they super-glued them on. Why else would so many people keep 'em??

Maybe because us Mustang owners are much smarter that the average vehicle owner.

i already told them not to and they agreed with me that it would look tacky....i said hey gimme a plate bracket and we'll call it even. they r like whatever request u want. and im like aright then. no temp plate in the window i want it in the bracket and no holes in the front bumper ill mount the plate myself. they made note of it and said no prob. and if they dont fulfill my requests ill make them adjust what is necessary
