Nothing worse than those big plastic advertising ornaments with not only the dealers' name but city, state, zip, time, temp, etc, lol. Even worse is that bastardizing tape on the back of the ornament. I had a dealer some years ago remove it after buying a new a new truck. As I watched them remove it I watched a nice section of paint come right off along with it...not a good time at all, lol.

I told my dealer loud and clear that I didn't even want to see the word Mustang anywhere on the outside of my car. I think they got the message

Number 1 sign you have a good dealer.....

You don't say anything about it, and they don't put them on

I realized that California dealerships dont ever put anything on the cars. the only logos I see are from out of state cars and trucks.

California and their obsession with "Image" I guess.

When I picked up my 1999 "Limited" GT in sept 1999, It had one of those chromed plated type dealer stick ons. Within seconds of signing my name on the dotted line, I walked out(in front of all the salesman) and took it off right there. They all kinda laughed.

i told my dealer, that if my car was tagged with a logo... i would love to stand there and watch while they promptly remove it from my new baby (with out a scratch of course!).

so, they tell me they aren't tagging it. we'll see i guess. It's getting the special treatment right when it gets there though (window tint, hood painted) so i assume my dealer will intercept any nametag requests. It's the only GT they have, and it's the 1st one to this dealer... i think they are all super excited about it, my dealer told me he would deliver it to me too (i live about 1 1/2 hours away) sooo... we'll see, i know he just wants to drive it, but he's a cool guy, so i might let him.

Hey Tony,

I ordered from Sanderson on 2/4/05. Did you have to tell them not to put a decal on it, or did they just not put one on? I bought a 2004 from them and they only put on the license bracket.

My dealership wins again. I asked when I was ordering and was told they don't put them on any cars.

Wow, the first Mustang GT they get is 6 months after production starts? This must be a very small dealership.

Asked my dealer how much they were going to pay me a month in advertising and they did not put it on at all. They have to pay TV stations to air commercials so why not me. They do not get pissed because of all those extras they charge you anyway.

I GUESS I WAS MISUNDERSTOOD IN GENERAL DEALERS MAKE MONEY ON THE EXTRA"S LIKE EXTENDED SERVICE, RUST PROOFING , ETC

I didn't have to pay any extras charges, sounds like the dealer is getting the best of you.

I'm old enough to remember dealers drilling holes in your trunk lid and securing a METAL name plate to the car!

The key is to find out when the dealer is going to prep your vehicle, get there at that time and keep an eye on the process. When I picked up my fleet vehicle, a lot boy was just about to attach the dealership decal; I asked him to please stop and he told me he would get in trouble if he didn't attach it, I informed him that I would cover for him if there were any repercussions.

No dealership decal...No problems

Told my dealer... "you break-it, you bought-it. No pinstripes, no-logos, no, nothing..." :nono:

You're not going to let your salesman pop her cherry for you, are you?!

I asked that no stickers be placed on my car and that I did not want anybody driving it not even for the PDI. They respected my wishes and it was parked away from everybody and the Mechanic waited on me for the PDI. 1.8 miles on odometer.

If I had a car, I would defenantly not want the dealer emblem. It takes away from the car and advertises a dealer. They should pay you if they want THEIR emblem on YOUR car to advertise and shamlessly promote themselves. But you know car salesmen, vulture-like and in it for the money. They just want your business, that's all.

Apparently my dad back in the day ordered a 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme specially with a 442 W-30 drivetrain (when you could still special order stuff like that), and specifically told them not to put on the dealer tag. When he went to pick it up, there was the tag, drilled into the trunk. He told them to take the car and shove it up their %$&@!.

I told my dealer that I did not want and better not see any advertisements, stickers, license plate covers, logos etc. on my Mustang when it arrived or I would be waiting for them to take em back off w/o any scratches. He said "we would not put anything on a Mustang! - They're special" When she arrived, I reminded him and he physically went out to the prep area and reminded them
