Thumbs up

I was wondering about the quality of window tint that the dealer installs and approx. what it costs. I'm looking to sneak that into my purchase deal. My price is already set, but if you don't ask, you don't know.
Thanks

On a side note, I wonder how the 05 would look with the rear quarter windows and rear window tinted?

Down here, the only tint that is illegal is the kind that will not allow an officer to see you inside. The only ones that actually are required by police to remove tint that is darker are kids that are asking for trouble and just plain ole' idiots with big mouths that argue with a cop when they get pulled over. You can go to any tint shop and get double limo tint (if you want to pay for it and not be able to see out of your car at night!)

Well...I guess it doesn't really matter. It's not like it's going to make me smarter or make me more money or give me some insight on the future. I suppose I was just wondering what the sense would be in blurring a manuf. plate.

I actually get my tinting done at a honda/toyota dealership, but that is only because of the quality job they do. Usually costs around $200 for a job like a coupe so. B)

In the past when I've asked dealers to tint the windows, they've always subbed it out to one of the local tint shops. I've never had a situation where the dealer did it themselves. I always ask if they do it themselves and if not, which shop they use and if it's not one I trust, I'll tell them "no thanks" and take it somewhere I do trust.

Take a look at the tint jobs that the dealer has done. I was considering the same thing until I saw the tint jobs that they've done on the cars that are on the lot. They all had the ugly borders over the "dot matrix" portions of the fixed windows. To be honest I've not yet seen a good tint job in my area, so maybe I'm too picky.

No problem! I'll be doing the same to mine when I get it. Probably the first thing I'll do, can't wait!

Luckily where I live I can tint my windows. I will get limo (5%) on the back window and rear quarters and 35% on the doors.
As far as dealer tint, all I know is most dealers have other companies to the tint for them anyway so I don't think it makes a difference if you ask them to do it or if you take is somewhere.

I think tint is useful for hot climates, but it drives me nuts in Illinois. There's not a strong sun and it's REAL annoying to be behind a car you can't see thru (just like massive SUV's that block the view ahead). Tint also stinks because you can't see if the person inside is letting you pass or thanking you or what, know what I mean? Oh well, at least tints are mostly illegal round' here (not that it stops many).

I spoke with my dealer today. Order is in bucked status, but he said it sometimes takes a few days for the system to update to schedule delivery. Anyways, he told me that they send the car out to a local guy for tint. Being that my dealer is a few hours away, I'll just wait and have it done locally. I'd actually rather take possession of the car when it's available as opposed to waiting another day for tint being done.
