ok i got his response....i really dont like what this guy is saying.

email "Thank you for the response. I am referring to the mustang GT. The GT will have about 8 for all of San Diego county the entire year. Mr ****** is planning on keeping the one we recieve for himself and sell his Ferrari. The Mustang GT will for sure be limited. Only a few per month per dealership. The dealerships will have no choice in the matter. Dealerships will only be able to recieve these units based on what the Ford Factory wants to send the dealers. This environment will last at least for the first 6 months possibly longer. The So Cal. Factory Rep from Ford has instructed our GM and ordering Fleet Manager that this would be the case for the entire So Cal region. As for the why, SUPPLY AND DEMAND!!!! Ford did the same thing for the release of the new T-BIRD. Here at this dealership we did not accept A X, Y, OR Z PLAN FOR THE FIRST YEAR. In fact we had dealer markup's selling them for more than the MSRP over this period.
The one thing that is for sure is we won't know till we get there what ford or the dealership will do on the Mustang GT. Only that we or any one else will not be able to order the vehicle only accept what they send us. If other dealers are saying something different they either do not know the facts or perhaps Ford Factory has told them something different, which is not likely. If I can help further let me know"

What do you guys think?

Yes, he is thinking Ford GT. I would send him pictures, or just give up on him.

Ahhh 8-10 weeks after Sept 7th? Thats ridiculous!

I think that this guy has all the intellectual power of a baby goat.

Come on, the T-Bird was like 20k units per year. The Mustang is 170k. We are talking about 8 times the number of cars available. Edit: okay, so i exaggerated.

BTW, don't buy from dealerships that sell above MSRP. Even on a different model than the one you are buying. It speaks volumes about their integrity. Plenty of dealers don't do it - buy from them instead.

He is talking about both. the dealer wants to keep the GT (40) for himself and sell the Ferrari. Only 8 total in SD county for the year.

The Mustang GT (he is saying) will be a few per month and only get what you get. This may or may not be true. He is warming you up for an over sticker premium on the early cars. DO NOT PAY OVER STICKER. DO YOU HEAR ME?

Hi, all...newbie here. Just thought I'd jump in and let you know my good news. I recently returned to the US and went straight to my local dealer and spoke with the owner about how much I was looking forward to the new Mustang. He said to come in on the 17th so we could order exactly what I wanted, then he said he'd sell it to me for invoice when it arrived. He couldn't say if that'd be in Sept (wasn't sure about orders), but was very confident it'd be before the end of the year. I've been sucking up for years, but I could barely speak after hearing that beautiful word...invoice!

Point is...there are great dealers out there who really appreciate loyal Ford buyers...especially those who drive Mustangs...like others have said, "DON'T pay more than MSRP".

Don't worry guys, there is no way i will pay over MSRP, much less MSRP at all. I am going to pay the x-plan price or less, i just dont know when it will be available. From what i have heard from other dealers in San Diego, I can order on May 17 and pay the X-plan when i pick it up. I may be a newbie here at the posts, but that doesnt mean i will pay MSRP.

Thanks everyone...

Oh, one last question: Does anyone have an estimate of what a Mustang GT deluxe with interior upgrade will cost on the X-plan?

Well maybe 2 last questions...I know that a while back someone posted a probable options list. I tried to search for it, but i couldnt find it. Could someone post that again?

Thanks

I think the options list was a survey....I believe Topnotch posted it?? ie. what options we'd like to see.

I suggest waiting another month or less (maybe two weeks?) until the brochure comes out. Also, we should have pricing at or before May 17th. Until then, its guesswork based on the current stang's pricing.

(Possibly take the current pricing and add 3%).

Maybe these clueless dealer's aren't so bad after all, since i checked my email when i got home and saw the following response to two emails i sent out asking dealers about ordering a Mustang with my desired specifications and about the A-Plan qualification and availability.

Response #1:

Hello DJ,

Yes, once the order guides come out I can order your Mustang for you. A-Plan is no problem.

E-mail me your contact information (full name, address, phone number, best time to call). I will be glad to assist you.

Sincerely,

Mark Vasiloff
Internet Sales Manager
Freedom Ford

Response #2:

Hi DJ,

I will be happy to assist you in ordering your new Mustang. I will receive the new order guide in a PDF and will be able send it to you so that you can start the process at home. Please send me your phone number and I will input your information into our system. I look forward to earning you business.

Best regards,

Bill Gordon
Internet Sales Manager
Kimnach Ford

Hey, usdclark,

Did this happen to be at El Cajon Ford? I noticed you mentioned San Diego, and I was told almost the exact thing by a guy at the El Cajon dealership near me. After our conversation I was sure he meant the GT not the Mustang GT.

Were we talking with the same guy?

Sounds like there will be a number of San Diego customers willing to travel to another dealership to get a fair deal and accurate info. next fall!

I will be getting mine at dealer cost through a friend that is the head of all fleet ordering and sales. This will be my fourth mustang I bought from him since 1996, and he has never added anything to the cost, including on a new cobra in 98. He also thinks there will be no problem for him to order it. Put it this way I got a GT premium with all upgrades available for $21,500 in jan. 03. And just for the record, I will be creating a new name because THERE IS NO WAY I AM GETTING BLACK AGAIN, three is enough. It will be satin silver red interior upgrade and 18" wheels and a shaker 1000. I call it the D plan!

Dave
