I dont see why not. My dealer tried to get one out of Texas and one out of Missouri, both unsuccessfully.

Problem being if they don't have an equivalent to trade then most likely no. Dealers aren't giving up the few lot lizards they have. I tried to get one traded and it wasnt happening cause my local dealers didn't have a GT Vert only a GT. I gave in and drove to the other dealer 300 miles away and purchased her.

This was back last December. The dealers that had the car I wanted would'nt give them up on a dealer trade. They would only dealer them out for another GT, which my dealer did not have.

Yup, same thing here in the Dallas area. Dealers will typically trade up, but not down. So if they have a buyer that wants a green GT coupe, another dealership might swap them if they're willing to give up a GT vert. They're not going to take a V6 for a GT though. Your best bet is to use FordDirect.com and enter zip codes in your area and keep checking inventories every few days. Then quickly hit that dealer when a car you want shows up. The inventory is quite accurate, that's what I used to look at verts around town.
