Dealer Called...Cars Built buttttttt.....

Well, I've been wondering about waiting until 2006 model year for my Mustang, even though I've had one on order since October..hearing about transmission problems, paint problems, blah, blah blah was really getting to me....build week Feb. 7...well my dealer called today with the invoice and told me that 18R IUP light was put in the car instead of my ordered full IUP 18G. I told him that just would not do...ticked me off, but I kept my cool...If I take this car with 18r...I'm under invoice and will receive the dealer holdback as well...or I can order out with a Priority number that is affixed to screwed up orders...so heck...I don't know...I can bolt and order a 2006, reorder with priority or take the 18r and save another thousand bucks...what say you???

I am waiting for the dealer to call me since the car is due anyday. When I show up at the dealer, I expect them to have what I ordered, anything else is not acceptable. I would be sure that if you reorder, you are going to get PRIORITY. They screwed you once already.

No-way would I allow them to do this. Either reorder or wait and order a 2006. I'm going to order a 2006... Job 1 is around Aug 8. Hopefully by then Ford would have fixed the few problems that are annoying people now.

Well I've decided that I'm not going to take the car with the IUP lite...I'll get the priority reorder timeline on Monday and if it looks favorable I'll reorder..I can go along with a reorder that would take no longer than 2 months....if it takes longer than that, I'll order an 06 at a different dealer...

I think what he's "trying" to say is:
My dealer said he (DROPPED) (TWO) to get mine.
implying that the dealer had to drop two of their allocated stangs to get his (which still really doesn't make sense).
so i guess i don't know... lol

How about taking this car, but having the dealer order the rest of the parts for the UP (MyColor Gauges, ??) and installing them when they get there. This topic http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=15841 shows one being installed in a non-IUP car.

i know this is a fear for alot of people , but i would stick to what you ordered and make them make it right. You do whats best for you, but you waited all this time for the car you ordered. So IMO i would reorder

i say do the retro fit. and make ford pay for it all. then there is no difference because u will have the instrument cluster with my color and message center, and the door handles and sills and dashboard. it wont be any different if you reorder.
