I am a proud owner of a new Mustang GT.
I drove in to work today and I CANNOT stop smiling... I have never been as eager as I was this morning to actually drive in to work.
We brought my new GT home last night and I still haven't processed the fact that I own this car and the wait is finally over for me.....
My brother and I drive up to the dealership in Belle Glade yesterday (thankfully bucked the forum trend of a rainy pick up!! It was however in the 50's 60's here though - definitely onot standard Florida weather - but I sure didn't mind...) - the truck with the car was expected to arrive around noon. We got there maybe around 2:30 and pull up on the side of the dealership - and there's a black GT sitting right at the entrance of the service bay..... THERE it was......
It had apparently gotten there no more than 20 minutes before we did. Went inside and did the paperwork while my brother dropped off my sister in law's car with the service tech (checking out that little ticking noise I posted about). Ended up being so busy I only snapped one pic before they were already PDI 'ing the thing!
Had them do a basic clean up of the car and nothing else - had them leave the plastic on the seats and the dash, no dealership stickers applied to the car, or dealership plates put on.....
Then we loaded up the DK II in my brother's enclosed trailer (for his drag strip Mustang) and home we went. Sadly, we got home after it had gotten dark so I couldn't give it a proper washing.... hoping to do that tonight.
Driving into work this morning I was so nervous at first - going from 4 1/2 years in my Escort ( 4 cylinders of unbridled FURY!!) to this was a heck of a change.... but soon my instincts from my '88 GT came back and I was nice and relaxed when I wheeled up to work... until I parked of course - I have to learn the new dimensions of this baby as my Escort was the size of a DIME and parking that anywhere was a snap.
So my brand new GT (4.5 miles on the odometer when we got it) is sitting down in the covered portion of the parking lot here at work and I CANNOT wait for lunch to get here and run some X-mas errands I have to do.
All those who are still waiting - hold on - hang in there. You will be SO HAPPY when you take delivery. Pictures do NOT do this car justice. And to those who got the Shaker 1000?... It is awesome.
X-mas Eve day I have off - and it's time to break out the newly purchased Zaino kit and make that GT SHINE!!!
I'll get up the few pictures I have so far - here's my view from the truck as we pulled into the dealer:

And I wouldn't have been so well informed about this car if it wasn't for your excellent site and the great folks on here!
(Some days I check this site more than my personal email account!!

Congrats, the car looks great! And while my car isn't here yet (it's on a convoy carrier as of 12/16) I empathize with the feeling of not believing it's your's. I've never owned a car as nice as the 05 GT. My 96 GT paled in comparison. Congrats again!
