Well, i saw the pictures today and immediately changed my order to the dark iup. my question is this- it is a given that the bright aluminum dash pieces are now dark but what about the steering wheel and shift ****? are they dark too or do they still retain the satin finish?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I'm going to guess and say the dark IUP is just the dash panels, since they have the silver vents like the satin version. So, I'm thinking the steering wheel and shifter will retain the satin parts. I guess we won't know for sure until a member gets their car with this option in the next few weeks.

 

What happened to the matte finish bezels? The bling bling fake chrome just isn't doin it for me.

 

I ordered mine with Interior upgrade with "charcoal panels", I got to wondering the same thing, what exactly is turned form "aluminum" to charcoal so I asked the dealer the other day, they told me that just the dash panel is changed with a dark panel. The spokes on the steering wheel, the shifter, and everything else that was upgraded in the IUP stays the brighter color.

 

I'll try to let you guys know. My GT w/ the Dark IUP is scheduled to arrive tomorrow!

 

The only difference between the standard IUP and dark IUP is the dash covers. As you've noted the vents, steering wheel, shifter, door handles, and door sills are still satin silver.

I dunno, I love the dark panels, but I'm not feeling the dark dash with the silver flaps, and silver on the wheel. Another half-way job by Ford. Should have gone the full shelby style treatment (matte finish bezels, dark dash, black flaps), or not at all.

 

Exactly how I feel. Why couldn't they make the trim around the instrument cluster and vents satin and the vents black is beyond me. It has to be purely economic. I wouldn't mind the satin spokes with matching satin trim rings on the vents though.
