Dark Candy Apple Red metallic impressions

Has anyone else noticed that DCARM has a bit of an "orange" look to it? To date, I've seen at least 3 Candy Apple Red Mustangs. All of them had a bit of "orange" to them. Reminds me of a macintosh apple, not quite red.

This might be a stretch, but I see a bit of Rangoon red, and Emberglo to it. Anyone else?

Sort of like Laser red tint, but with an orange tint?

Redfire is definitely red, sometimes I've seen that blue tint, and at night its more like purple.

My initial impression is that I like redfire better as a true red, but DCARM seems to draw on some history with colors such as Rangoon red and Emberglo.

Well, with mine it really seems to change color according to the different lighting conditions. In bright sun, it really shows up as red. Later in the garage, it seems to turn into a blood red. But it does look a Macintosh apple (not the computer).

The two colors are very similar, I prefer Candy Apple, but I still like Redfire. There was a 07 Redfire one over at the same Dealership that I got mine at that was equipped almost the same as mine. I almost think that I should have gotten it instead of the 08 since I could have gotten a better deal on it. But right now I'm not really hurting for money, and I like having Ford custom, or semi-custom build it for you!

I turned a guy at work on to that 07, so maybe he'll end up with it. It's been there since May!

As far as orange being in DCAR, I don't really see that. A little brown maybe? I do see some blue in Redfire though.

Good choice of grilles

I didn't like it at first but after all the redfire cars were off the lot I have taken a liking to it. The flake is almost all gold, so it will turn orange/emberglo when the lighting is yellow like sunrise/set.

The DCAR has a Gold mixture in the base, whereas the Redfire has a Silver mixture. Both colours look awesome, but the Sun does better with the Redfire, and the Dusk/Dawn does better with the DCAR. (IMHO) Here's an 08 GT/CS along side my 07GT just before dusk.

Thanks Kevin!

I had some issues getting the OEM grill out, but I finally after getting an "OUCH!" see pic. That's how I know that DCAR is close to blood red; from experience!

Also, DCAR reminds me of the red that fire engines used to have back in the day. I think of that when I see my car in the garage in the morning when the light isn't very good.

I like the DCAR better, I love the deeper colors, and to me that looks deeper, but I just dont think I want a red car.

Probably explains it, as the times I've seen DCARM is when the sun is coming up or going down, (spend too much time working). Had a chance to see a couple cars during daylight today, nice color, still think I like Redfire better. That said, under direct sunlight, they are real close.

In the sun, they both compare. At dusk they go their separate ways, hues. But all in all, it is all good. Both are Mustangs. Both are Red. What could ever be better? (TR owner's need not repsond)(lol)

I have not seen the candy yet.

I always thought redfire looked a little magenta/purple-ish at dusk for a met red. But awesome durning the day.

I love my Redfire. I looked at the dcarm the other day and was not impressed. As for the "purple-ish" hue on the Redfire at dusk ... .
