Cruise Control???

I know this is a really dumb question, but I need an answer...I cannot find a manual online and I left the car manual at my poconos house.

I left my poconos house today, driving to Philly on the Northeast Extension. I went to hit "On" to turn on my cruise control, and it didn't respond. I tried a few techniques, like pressing and holding, pressing a few times and nothing. I even tried hitting the other buttons to try to get it to respond but nothing.

I know I am doing something wrong.

Any suggestions?

Push the On button, then press the Set button on the other side of the wheel. A green light will light up in next to the speedo, showing it is on.

Completely agree. The "On" button should illuminate the green light and allow the "Set" button to actually engage cruise control (set to current speed).

It was weird though, because when I hit the On button, nothing would illuminate. Tomorrow, I will attempt it on my way to work...

I dunno what else it could be if it doesn't work though.

Possibly a missed connection at the factory??? I am sure they do an inspections on these things before the final roll out...

Acutally, I don't think that the light illuminates until you hit the set button (after hitting on, obviously).

Also, make sure you hit the + set button.

I use mine a lot and so as soon as I hit the highway I hit the on button.
The dash lights up when I hit the set and it turns off when I brake or shift.

You have to press the set button after on for the light to come up. When I'm using CC, I can press the brake or clutch and the light will go off, but CC is still ok, just not running.

What they said, there is no light or indicator that it is on until you hit "set" on the right hand side or "resume", then the little cruise light comes on.

YOU might have a bad sensor. This happened to me the cruise control just didnt work (no light or functionality). I took it into the dealer, and they ended up replacing the entire master cylinder. Supposedly something with the sensor stopps cruise control forom working.

Problem is, they might have screwed up the Brake booster when they fixed thr cruise control. My stang is waiting in the shop with no brakes.

On .... Set "+" ..... (be over 30mph too)

SPEED CONTROL
With speed control set, you can maintain a speed of 30 mph (48 km/h)
or more without keeping your foot on the accelerator pedal. Speed
control does not work at speeds below 30 mph (48 km/h).
Do not use the speed control in heavy traffic or on roads that
are winding, slippery or unpaved.
Setting speed control
The controls for using your speed
control are located on the steering
wheel for your convenience.
1. Press the ON control and release
it.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed.
3. Press the SET + control and
release it.
4. Take your foot off the accelerator
pedal.
5. The indicator light on the instrument cluster will turn on.
Note:
Vehicle speed may vary momentarily when driving up and down a
steep hill.

If the vehicle speed increases above the set speed on
downhill, you may want to apply the brakes to reduce the speed.

You have to respect a guy who admits he wasn't doing something that is in the manual.

If when on CC and you hit the break off it goes , say you had to stop at a light , then when your getting up speed hit the RES button and it will resume the cc you were previosly at.

Yeah I mean, I usually never have a problem with CC. I did it right off the bat in my mom's Jeep Liberty and Chevy Equinox, but with those, when you hit the switch, a light came on and told you it was on before you set it. I figured all cars were like that, but I leanred that the hard way without reading the manual.

I read it the first day I bought the car, but disregarded at the moment since the manual said don't use CC for the first 1,000 miles. When the time came to use it, I was on the highway, alone and I didn't want to try looking for the manual while driving. When I came home, I came online and asked and forgot to look at the manual.

I will admit, it was dumb, and I should of tried hitting the Set +. Oh well...thanks for the help and "respecting" me! haha
