Well, I was planning on waiting until Spring '06 to order. But with all the rumors (and facts) of parts shortages, possibly My Color not being offered, and price increases, I got my order in today.

05 GT 5-Spd
Torch Red
IUP
ICAP
Side Airbags

$27264 out the door includes 6% sales tax, $75 for tags, and a $399 'dealer prep fee' (dealer profit). That prep fee is a load of crap but ALL the dealers I've found charge something similar here in FL. Do you guys think I got a good deal?

One thing that caught me off guard was a Florida Ford Advertising Fund. It showed up on the dealer's invoice. They said it was something that Ford charges the dealers on the cars sold to them. I know a lot of corporations charge their franchises something like this, but I've never heard of this when buying a car.

I signed anyway, does it sound like I got took?

Oh, well, Congrats to me!

Recheck your invoice, there will most likely be a FDAF charge of about $240.

That's probably what it was, or one of the other dealer markups. But it makes sense that Ford wouldn't charge the dealer for marketing on an x-plan.

Thanks, in all actually I'm really lucky to have my wife. Afterall, she let me order my '05! I just wish I knew for sure if I got the best deal. I guess that happens everytime you buy a car.
