I was just wondering if anyone else here is from Southern WI (Madison) and has ordered a Mustang? If so how long between the ERL saying "Shipped via Convoy" and it showing up at the dealer?

I checked the window sticker on the one V6 my dealer has in stock and it says it came via Convoy. My salesman thinks that they get trucked to Chicago and there is a mix lot there
and then they come up here. Ford Customer Service said ETA of the 26th, but 2 weeks to go 400 miles seems a bit pessimistic to me. Although if it is the 26th thats almost exactly 4 months from
order to delivery.

Trying to be patient.

I'm in madison, Capitol Ford had a yellow GT last time I checked. There were 4 or 5 V6's there too. I suspect it would take atleast 2 weeks to make the 400 mile trip, I used to work at Kaiser Ford and that seems about right.

Mine took 8 days via convoy from Flat Rock to Minneapolis.. As a side note shipped via convoy means that it was turned over to the shipping company, not that it left Flat Rock on that day.

In addition, the same dealer had another car build the same week that came by rail which took approximatly 16 days.

Good Luck

I live in Los Angeles. My Mustang had a build week of 12/13, and on 12/15 the message was 'shipped via convoy carrier as of 12/14 with an ETA week of 12/25', and the car arrived at ramp on 12/27 and I picked it up the next day at the dealer, so the ETA given was right.

I agree that 2 weeks to go 400 miles doesn't seem right...but if you think about it that's a long time from MI to CA as well. For example, a trip from NY to LA on the train takes 3 days, and I would think that it would take about a week for someone to drive cross country.

All I can say is try and be patient as the car will be here soon.
