In that case look into the lemon laws. That would be even better I believe, seeing as that you wouldn't have to worry about selling your current car and/or trade-in value.

And my 2 cents... becareful if your stock is all/mostly in your one company - Diversify, even big companies go down.

That was my thought - her approval.
The "I'm in charge" speech, is that the one that goes...
I'M IN CHARGE (when you aren't around)

:jedi: Whoa, this one is sweet!
Or you could always give her the "If you really loved me..." line but that one might really get you in trouble.

My wife went balistic when I showed up with a Mach 1.
Then a year later she suggested I get a Cobra.
I love my wife. eace:

I can't think of any, unless they're rich and don't care so much about your well-being.
Now if you're talking about a used V6, we might have something to work with.

"Mom, the car is a FORD!! Not some Lexus or BMW like all the other kids drive around here. Plus, I'll pay for it all and I don't want you even asking about the cost or anything because it's mine. You may, of course, drive it at any time."
See, that's Smooth Talking The Parents 101.
And yes, it did work, though one of my parents insists on coming to the dealership with me, I am guessing to see the price... Um, can you say no?- I'll take a cab and go myself to pick it up, lol.

Be married for 25 years. Owned a Mustang every day of your life for all those 25 years. Tell your wife how much she means to you and that the car is only a thing and could never replace her. Her having your kids is the best thing that ever happened to you (besides your wedding day). And work on it for two years by dropping hints and plastering your desktop with '05 stuff................................
Well, it worked for me.

If you've got a wife/husband that likes cars it shouldn't even be an issue. If they refuse to approve the purchase, go down kicking and screaming. If that doesn't work, get rid of 'em, they're not worth the headache.

After 23 years of marriage I knew it would take awhile, so I started in the first day I saw the 05 info. Magazine open on the table, picture on the cell phone, comments about selling the current car. The works. She tried all sorts of objections, act your age, that's a car for teenagers, you can't get your Shelby back. etc. etc. The ultimate argument though is "I spend very little of the family budget and I want it"
She finally gave up objecting and now it's just a question of what color GT and Auto or stick

My wife is a Mustang lover also. We have a 1965 Mustang Fastback (Black). When I saw the first pictures of the 05 design, and showed them to her. The first thing she said was we have to get a Black GT to match our 65. Then we will have 40 Years between the Two of them. I ordered a Black 05 GT the week Ford started taking orders for them. I guess I'm kinda lucky I married a Mustang Fan.

I have an '02 SVT Focus, which I love, but the wife hasn't been crazy about it. I mentioned the new design of the Mustang and she said "whatever". Then, last month, 6 of the new ones roared by us on US-23 south of Flint...
She looked at me and said, "Is that the new Mustang?"
I said, "Yes...yes, it is.".
She replied, "You should get one of those."
The car convinced her not me. That is impressive.

I've seen it mentioned a few times through the months, but thought it might warrant its own thread.
How is everyone going about showing their significant other that the '05 Mustang is a necessary purchase? Did you have a hard time? Was it a mutual decision? Did you have to promise to buy him/her one too?
I'm getting married next Fall so my fiance wasn't too big on the idea when I told her I wanted one for Spring '05, especially since I just bought my POS Jetta last April. I ultimately convinced her through reassuring her that financially (company stocks and what-not) we'd be more than okay. She basically just threw up her arms and said "you do what you want to do". I know she'll be gleaming when I finally get to bring it home, but I really hate going against her opinion on such a large purchase. The compromise would be to wait for Spring '06, but I don't think I can wait that long to get my GT.
By the way...single folk need not reply (unless divorced, of course )
