I don't have any squeaking issues with the window seals.

Of the cars I've driven/owned, none of them have had seats that remember where they were (assuming they were even adjustable), so it hasn't really been an issue for me.

My top has already been replaced due to the back window coming undone. to make things worse when they put on the new top they scratched the car, and had to repaint a section.

they also left my car out in the rain with back window totally open.
I made a surprise stop into the dealership and saw my car outside after a rainstorm and a puddle of water behind the backseat.

then last week I pulled out the backseat and there was still a puddle of water under the back seat so at least I found that before it caused major damage

You are one cool cookie. If that had happened to me I would be in cardiac arrest.

I was thinking of buying a vert but after all of the top problems I am rethinking this. Are all verts like this in the carmarket? I want to be able to buy something and enjoy it not have to take it to the shop every other week for a fix. So far everything I have read on the 05/06's is that everyone is having issue after issue. I had a 2000 gt and had no issues at all with it.

You're always going to have issues, regardless of the body style.

What about the headliner in the top? Is it coming out of that crossbar?

When I get home I will snap a pic and upload it to show.

Mine has a bit over 4000 miles, and I have little or no issues. No sqeaks from the rubber, no problem with the crossbar, and no backlight problems, nothing mechanical, etc.

The only one thing is a rattle I have in the right front part of the top every so often. However, I think that any vert you buy is going to have some rattle/squeaky issues. It's the nature of owning one.

For every problem posted here, there's dozens of problem-free convertibles putting insufferably happy grins on their owners' faces.

I am reviving this thread.

I got my Vert last thursday and nothing but fun!!

3 Questions:

1. The drivers window and rear window (driver side), where they meet with that rubber seal squeaks/vibrate like crazy over any surface other than smooth. Passenger does not have that issue. Wondering if others have it.

2. With top up, there is a crossbar of sort that is right above the head of the driver. Anyway, the fabric does not tuck behind it. Not sure if it is supposed to or not. I tried pulling it in but did not want to ruin it.

3. When you use the seat lever on the back of the seat (drivers or passenger) to access the back seats it does not remember where it once was. That is real annoying since you have to adjust the seat each time. The same is true when sitting in the seat and try to adjust the seat back, nothing happens with the lever unless you use lever and pull seat back at same time.
Otherwise the car is so sweet!
1) How about performing "short drop recalibration" (p.45 of the owners manual) on the front window? Maybe it lost it's memory? Could be worth a try. Read carefully.

2) I've got a bit of fabric seam of sorts showing on mine also, and am not worrying about it considering what I've been through.

3) If you wanted seat memory, you should have got the Benz! ;-)

Top is hardly up so not going to worry about it.

I have the same rubber on rubber squeak at my drivers window also.

So far I just roll the window down and its gone, this is way to nice of a convertible to be mad at, but it does drive me crazy.

I am going to try some felt strips stuck over the rubber and see if that solves the problem.

It seem like a lot of people just blow things off like its no big deal. Where it is a big deal. I am not gonna be paying a pretty big chunk of money for something and it spend a month out of the year being in the shop for repairs. I can guarantee you that they arent gonna knock off a payment if its in the shop as much as everyones I have seen so far has been. So far I have seen, radio skips, door handle , strut bushings, seat, and now top problems. I am beginning to think that a new f150 is sounding pretty good . Like I stated before I had a 2000 gt and the only issues I had from it were my fault due to racing. I went through a couple of clutches. Are any of these issues being addressed and fixed on the 06 models or can I expect more of this?

You made the statement "are all verts like this"? The answer is no - all cars are like this. Of any make. There will always be a certain percentage of cars that have issues. The nature of the convertible gives it all the issues of the coupe plus whatever the top contributes.

Two people can buy the same car - one will go problem free for years, one will have an issue within six months. Just the nature of the industry.

I have an 05 vert and a 04 F150 The issues in the 04-05 F150 are much more than the 05-06 stang. No probs with my vert at all. Got the nibble in the 1fiddy.

No problems with my windows squeaking, nor with the top as far as I know. I have about 2000 miles (June deliverly) on the car, and the top is up and down almost daily.

Had the car since April - 3300 miles - no problems with any part of it - well there was a trim screw missing the trunk.

No problems with mine either.

The only times I'm having problems "Above and Beyond" normal fair wear and tear, is when I cause the problem myself with all my aftermarket mods.
