There are enough of us getting Verts that I thought this might be a good idea.
My observation so far is that when I put the top down it doesn't go down all the way, it stays up above the rear headrests a couple of inches. You can gently push down on either side and it seats all the way down flush with or slightly below the rear headrests.
I called the service dept at my dealer and they said it seemed normal that someone else had brought theirs in(I was told by my dealer mine was the only one they sold) and they compared it to another Vert they had(It might have been mine they compared it to, but it was only there for a day). I don't think this is right. The top will catch a lot of air sitting above the headrests. He said he would check with the Service Manager and get back to me. We will see how long that takes. I would bet money I have to call them back. :nono:
Anyone else?

Shouldn't it go at or elow the door line? How else are you going to get the boot on?

I started looking around at pics and they all are even or just slightly below the rear headrests. I don't have a boot but have seen one on a car its the same height. You don't really need the boot, because of the new Z fold of the top. Its pretty slick. Drove with the top down today, kind of cold but it was cool.

Finally received an answer. They said it was designed not to go down all the way but it can be pushed down so its below the headrest. They couldn't answer any of my questions as to why this would be. All the photos I've seen the top is flush or just lower than the rear headrests. I've put it down and driven and its settled all the way down on its own, occasionally. I asked if they could adjust it and he said no, that if they started adjusting it, it may not close all the way then. Maybe it will just break in and settle all the way down on its own. There is no way it is supposed to be above the headrests. It catches air and is not flat on the top. Oh well. I tried. Maybe I'll call another dealership.

Maybe....just maybe......the top is made of a canvas material that will stretch some over time, so the tops are installed extra tight so that the top won't look cheap and overly wrinkled as it ages. Is this your first convertible?

The top is made of vinyl. It is pretty tight and its the mechanism not the top and how tight it is. Yes, my first Convertible.

You don't have to push on it very much or hard at all. It goes all the way down pretty easily. About every other time I put it down I don't push on it. About half the time it settles all the way down by itself, while driving. I'm hoping its just a break in thing. Everything else is great, seals nice, easy to unhook and rehook the latches, not very loud. I've had it out in a couple of good rainstorms, no leaks.
I have to get me a good hat to wear with my sunglasses though. I've been checking out some Mustang ones.

Yea, that reason too. Mostly, it helps keep more sun out of your face to see better and stops what hair I have left from blowing around.

My top has separated from the rear window a bit. Might have been that way since day one, but I've had the top down ~90% of the time and hadn't noticed. Its the outside bottom of the glass. Here is a photo. (Note the great reflection on my rain-X'ed window, and Zaino'd trunk, that stuff is the bomb).

Also, word to the wise, don't put change in your door/map storage. It slips through the cracks and ends up in your door and rattling when you turn up the Shaker. I'm currently trying to figure out a way to get it out without taking the door apart. :bang:
The only other thing that I've had wrong is my rear/trunk emblem is not a GT. They said they will replace it when I bring the car in for its first service. I am assuming they will fix the rear window too.
Beside that, this car KICKS A_ S_ S

When I have the top down and pull to a red light, I hear a strang noise.
When I look around and track down the noise, it is a guy leaning out of his truck hollering "hey man! hey man! nice ride! nice ride! niiiiiiice ride!"

My top has also begun to separate from the window. Just had it to the dealer and guess what?....I'm getting a new top! It will take 2~3 weeks to order.
