I ordered a 2005 Mustang GT Prem Convertible on 1/28 through AAFES Military Car Sales (military stationed overseas-Germany) with a poss deliv in mid May-EOM right now. Equipment ordered:
Torch Red/Black Top/Charcoal Leather
Ziebart Overseas Vehicle Protection-449.
US Freight-625.
Overseas Transportation-745.
Deliv Point Processing-429.
Auto-937.50
Anti Theft-240.
Interior Upgrade-424.
Wheel Locks-47.50
Seat Air Bags-348.00
Soft Boot-107.50
In lieu of a full tank of gas-(-25.)
GT Prem Convertible-29,501.
Uplift (covers price changes if they happen)-1514.
Total 34018.50-1250.=32768.50

From what I've seen I'm in the ballpark for what folks have paid, but I have recvd a $1250. FORD rebate avail to military overseas buyers that expired 1/29. As for new rebates, don't think the 2005 Mustang will have any regular rebates or low rates. Can't wait for my convertible to get here so I can legally ring the V8 out on the Autobahn. Thanks for all the good info and postings in the forum!

Good news for us that have ordered verts. I have seen a couple others with build dates and I got my build date for Feb 28. I ordered GT with IUP at the end of Dec. Looks like things are starting to pick up and they'll be getting our cars out of the factory soon. wooohoooo.

Hey Tony,
That's great news. What was the status of your order until you received your build date. I have had my order in since 1/8/05 and when I check on its status it comes back as ON HOLD DUE TO IUP. My dealer has given me a 10 priority but haven't had any luck getting a VIN or build date. Hope you right about things easing up. My dealer told me last week that Ford will only build about 17000 GT VERTS in 2005. Not many to go around.

where are you from? i ordered on 11-3 and i still have no word....the funny thing is i live in deaborn about 30 min away from where my car is being built....i wish i could just go and grab it the second after its finished!!!

my dealer told me southern states have a greater allocation for verts and they will get theirs first : (

Couldn't prove that by me. Ordered 11/1 and STILL (for two months now) C/U.

Last I heard, Georgia was a STILL southern state.

Yeah, I know about dealer allocations and priorities. Seems Ford cares more about keeping dealers happy than customers.

OK !!! I got it out of my system for the day (a rant, that is).

Enjoy the ride when it gets here; ...I know I will.

I'm down near Atlanta, GA. I did have the IUP hold for a while but then I just got picked up for my build week. It could be that I am the first convertible at the dealership I am at or I just got plain lucky. Either way I hope all of you get picked up for build weeks soon. It doesnt matter if it was 0 degrees outside when I get my vert I'll still drop the top.

I live in San Diego and just this week ordered my Satin Silver GT convertible with IUP, etc. from the largest mover of Mustangs in town. They are also the only ones not tacking a hefty premium on the car.

It went super smooth, but I still don't have a build date. They say they are expecting a build date within the next two weeks - but, not that the build date itself will be within the next two weeks - and told me that we were probably looking at April for delivery.

They said the backlog of coupes is huge and that the holiday shut-downs didn't help much (losing some 3 weeks of production). However, the current job includes convertibles and there is a number of 'verts that *will* be built - no matter what. So, even though there are a number of coupes orders outstanding, that isn't supposed to impact my order.

I hope so.

This forum should be changed to BIG B/S forum cause thats what these price statements are. After you purchase that convertible come back and be HONEST and tell us what you paid. Most of us did not arrive on the first watermelon truck out of Mexico so blowing smoke is to no avail. My first GT was purchased OCT 04 and I paid full sticker price and was lucky to get it at that because of all the greedy dealers. They still are selling at whatever price the public is willing to pay. The convertibles will be at a premium for sure. If you did not buy it from KARPRO you will expect to pay sticker if your lucky and over if you are not. I am all smiles so please tell me some more bedtime stories.

Mongoose, I have no idea what you paid for your Mustang, and if you paid sticker consider yourself lucky, folks for sure are paying more for coupes and yes, convertibles. What I paid is regulated by a federal oversight and agreement program set up by Military Car Sales run by AAFES (DoD Exchange Service) for folks stationed overseas. I didn't pay sticker but ended up a couple percent below with a uplift fee (price change coverage) added on. I did have to pay an extra transportation fee to get the car to me in Germany, the standard fee only cover stateside transport.

My GT Convertible was ordered 1/28 and I recvd a $500 military FORD rebate and an additional early order rebate of $750 (exp 1/28) for a total of $1250 rebate off, as for folks not associated with the military I doubt FORD will be offering any rebates until stocks creep up. Here are my options, fees and GT Convertible that I don't have a build date on yet:

Torch Red/Black Top/Charcoal Leather
Ziebart Overseas Vehicle Protection-449.
US Freight-625.
Overseas Transportation-745.
Deliv Point Processing-429.
Auto-937.50
Anti Theft-240.
Interior Upgrade-424.
Wheel Locks-47.50
Seat Air Bags-348.00
Soft Boot-107.50
In lieu of a full tank of gas-(-25.)
GT Prem Convertible-29,501.
Uplift (covers price changes if they happen)-1514.
Total 34018.50-1250.=$32768.50

Hope your Mustang Convertible arrives soon, as I hope to get a build date on mine soon too. Cheers

Hey All,
Got great new about my Vert order. I have gotten a Vin # and build date due the week of March 7th. Dealer tells me if all goes well I may see her before the end of March. My order was on hold due to the IUP. Maybe Ford has gotten their supply issues fixed. Hope this is a good sign for everyone with a car on order. YEPEEEE!

I will pay full MSRP. The only thing I said was that the dealer I ordered through is not putting on a premium. Most dealers in San Diego are charging a $1000-$4000 uplift. So I am not claiming to get a deal or anything - just no premium.
