Console cracking noises when shifting
I hear an annoying noise when shifting especially in third fifth gear. I think the cracking noise come from where the leather trimming of the shifter attach to the console. It doesn't feel smooth when I shift and it's getting on my nerves. Anyone else got that?
It could be your keys jangling. Or the false bottom of the cup holder moving about. When you say "tic tic," that is what I would look for.
My arms rest on the console as well. Could the lid of the unit be moving?

I think I know what he is talking about. The leather wrap around the shifter kind of "pops" when it shifts right after startup when it's cold outside. It's not THAT big of a deal, I don't think. I don't think it does it anymore though. Not sure if that's what you're hearing.
Could be it Chad. I think it does it more when it's cold outside. I think it's coming from the bulge at the base of the leather wrap at the place it ties up to the console. If I push there I can hear the sound. Definitely no big deal but I tought maybe something was cracked down there on my car...

Yes, I think. Or the console... It's not the transmission... Its like a "TICK! TICK!" if I shift strongly. Just feel cheap...

I have a crackling noise coming from the back of the dash. Haven't really tried to figure out what is caused it though. Sounds something like bubble wrap popping or something expanding due to heat.
I have a rattle on the passenger side of the dash and the drivers side. I have drove myself crazy trying to find them. I have done everything but take the dash apart. They are real loud when I am cruising around 60 or 70 mph. I have a Bassani exhaust system and the vibration from it just enhances it. You can't take it back to the service department for a rattle can you?
Definately different problems. My sound seems to go away once the car is heated up. I'd check that rattle out David. You can DEFINATELY take it back to the service department. You didn't pay for a rattling car.
