Conflicted: Black v Alloy
Conflicted: Black v Alloy
I keep going back and forth between Black and Alloy. What do you all think?
Those that own either color, what are your thoughts? I've owned only one black car in my life and I swore I would never own one again due to a) it showing dirt easily, b) primer showing after rock chips, c) interior heat in the summer. But black looks soooooo good clean. Ahhhhhhh!

Interior will be Dark Charcoal and, hopefully (if I don't order), the Charcoal dash as well.

My '03 was black and I drove myself nuts trying to keep it clean - wax, clay, wash, color wax, special wax crayon....
Once black has been compromised, it hurts each time to look at it. I decided on alloy cause it's a good balance between black and silver....and it can mess w/ your eyes depending on the angle/light.
See? benefit of black w/o the grief.

I like both colors, but mine is black. My old 2000 mustang was grey/silver and I somewhat settled for that color at the time. I regretted it the whole time because black has always been my favorite. If one color or the other is your favorite, get that one, else you might regret it. If they are nearly equal, then take those other things into consideration. At least that's what I recommend.
If they didn't offer this color, I would of chose something else like vista or redfire. MG, DSG, or Tungsten just wasnt dark enough. Now that I've cleaned it a dozen times, if it was a darker, metallic black I would of skipped it. Probably one of the easier dark-colored cars to clean that I've had.

I had a hard time too. My first mustang was black. My Supra is black as well. They look **** good when clean, but black shows every scratch and dent.
So I chose Alloy once I saw pics of it online. Then I saw it in person when I flew back to the states, and fell even more in love with it.

Its funny that we've had tons of them at the dealer, but all with wings and a lot of Pony V6's. When mine came in wingless with no stripes or scoops I still get someone in the shop each time I am washing it ask me 'when did they start making them in this color?'
Go with Alloy. Black will ALWAYS be available as a color choice. Alloy will only be around a few years. I get my share of compliments - everyone asks what Ford calls the color, because it's not black, not silver...
Here's a close up of the paint in the sun - it looks awesome!

Alloy doesn't show dirt as much as black, My g/f has a black PT Cruiser and I have compared the two a few days after a wash and her's looks dirty while my car still looks faily clean. I was at a Mustang Roundup a couple of weeks ago in Ft Lauderdale, I was the only Alloy there and got nothing but compliments on the color. Go Alloy
Alloy all the way! After my first 2 cars were black, I didn't want to go through all that detailing / polishing again...
