Concept vs. Production
#3
I think Ford should do like other auto-makers in that.....top model(GT in this case) will get painted door handles and mirrors.
I like the production vs concept sooooooo much better, other than the hood.

the mirrors are no problem.. if they bother me enough I will scuff them down and get some paint shot at them.
Might as well get it done the same time as the body kit is being installed

Add the GT's "concept" wheels, paint the mirrors, and get a new hood, and it's almost a match!

I am still lovin that lower front valance on the concept. It just makes the front end look like one fluid piece instead of the segmented look that the production front end gives. The mirrors, hood, and low profiles will all be on my credit card statement soon after I pick mine up.

you're right, it is really close. the mirrors do look A LOT nicer painted, and i'm sure it's not to expensive to get something small like that done. deffinatly a lot cheaper than a whole car paint. also on the concept, i really liked the painted on GT logo behind the front wheels. graphically very nice to me.
the hood was a big turn on when i first saw it, and i'm sure something similar will be available aftermarket.
i also really like the low-pro tires. i'm guessing they're probably 235/45(or 35)Z-R18(or19). they could be twankeys (20's) though, i'm not too great at guess wheel radius. i'm hoping the available 55's have a low enough profile. i think the 16's on the v6 just look kinda bad. they're probably 60s or 65s though, so pretty thick.
i think they did a good job staying close to the concept, and wound up with a beautiful car. it must be great after all, or we'd have nothing to keep dreaming and speculating about.

The vert mule I followed for 50 miles had red painted mirrors... as did a few of the mules in one of many Fords holding lot. Wonder if they changed their minds during pre-production or what.

If the mirrors are not painted I will definately be painting them. I would love to have the concept hood, guess I will wait 6 months and buy an aftermarket one, but I prefer factory paint anyday.
