I have heard that a black car is the hardest to maintain due to scratches being easily visiable. What colors will be the hardest/easiest to maintain out of the 05 colors.

I am having trouble deciding between the grey, black, lime, and windevil blue colors.

Most of our cars are white (3 out of 4), and you can't really see any scratches at all on the white cars...

Lighter colors don't have as many visible scratches as darker colors do, at least to my knowledge...

I will never own a black car again as a primary ride. I am so tired of trying to keep mine clean

I've never been a fan of black for that reason also. They look good when they are clean (which lasts about 30 minutes), but are tough to keep that way. The more you clean them the more the paint gets swirl marks.

With that said, you should check out the BMW M3 in Carbon Black. Now that is an awesome color. It has a slight gray/blue hue to it.

Silver seems to hide everything.

I agree, silver is low maintanence and hides dirt and scratches very well.

However, the best bang for your buck IMO is RED. You get a great colour and red is VERY easy to keep clean.

WB will probably be a good choice also.

Just about all paint gets swirl marks depending on use. Just look at some of the painted things that are laying about in your home. Notice how bright colors are much more vibrant and you don't notice the swirls as much. The problem with Black cars is that they magnify the swirls because of how dark the color is, almost like a black mirror.

Good colors for hiding swirls/marks, mainly because of how Vibrant the colors are.

1. Bright Yellow
2. Bright Red
3. Bright Orange
4. Bright Green
5. Bright Blue
6. White

Non-bright colors that hide swirls/marks just as good if not better.

1. Silver
2. Greys
3. Pewter

Dark colors that show swirls easier, and can be a pain to keep in good shape.

1. Black
2. Dark Blue
3. Dark Red
4. Dark Green

I wouldn't worry about black with the heat. Air Conditioning on Mustangs are INCREDIBLE. I hope they keep the same A/C on the 2004 as they had on 1999-2004. It is simply amazing how quickly cold air comes out.

I have another little car that is Royal Blue-ish. Doesn't show dirt at all!

Black is a female dog. Even for a sunday driver it will be a sunday washer.

I've had a black car for 4 years...and no noticable faults in the paint except where the dealer's porter screwed in the license plate too hard and it tool about a 1/4 inch of paint off(but thats behind the plate and on the trunk, so...whatever)

My advice, wax it at least once a year, and keep it washed(maybe twice a month minium), and you'll be drawing stares like crazy...

i for one would wax by hand with mothers twice a year and wash my car every weekend. that way i kept it look flashy as heck and i never got any rust or swirls or salt corrosion or even paint discoloring or chipping. my pops got me into doing that because ever since he was 18 and had his first car a Chevy II Nove SS he has never had any rust or anything on his cars and they have always looked like they came right off the showroom floor. i did that with my old '01 GT and i gotta admit for being a daily driver + part time drag car i never had to worry about swirls or any of that crap and mine was a dark red gt... i forget its name tho... it was close to redfire but wasnt as light (yes i know redfire isnt a light metallic, thats how dark my gt was) and i had a black interior too and i gotta admit with the a/c that thing had i never had a problem with my interior being too warm i usually found it as being just right but everyone else thought it was freaking cold...

Silver does hide everything, including the car! I've read studies that say that silver cars are the hardest for other drivers to see....

That being said, silver, white and lighter colors are easier to keep "looking" clean than darker colors like black and red. They may look cleaner, but they really aren't though..... The dirt just doesn't show up as well.
