Cold start capability?

Hey all,
how well does your GTs start at cold weather? Is it very weak upon start? We had around 32F (0 C), and I was amazed how sluggish it was upon start. Anyone have any ideas for improvement?

Never had any problem like that, and I've started mine at around +5F before. Starts just like it would at 60F, although I let it idle for about 2 minutes before I drove it, just to get the oil flowing. Make sure you're using the correct oil (5-20), and consider using a good full synthetic like Mobil1. I've also considered using Mobil1's 0-20, as it would be great for very cold startups, but still protect like the 5-20 once the engine is warm.

I've had mine fail to start the first time i turned it over, twice this last week but i cant say it's due to the cold... of coarse the coldest it's been is 50.. i think..

I have not had a problem with starting. But it runs awful sluggish when I first take off when it cold outside and the engines cold. I also let mine warm up for a couple of minutes before I take off. The coldest my car has seen is 25 deg in South Bend Indiana.

Yeah, waiting a minute on cold starts is a must.
No sluggish cranking issues thru 1 chicago winter so far.
I have had it actually die, and stumble a few times on me If I get in and fire it up and try to move it RIGHT away.
I need to get the car out of the garage as soon as I start it up, it rattles the whole house and wakes people up, lol.

About 1-2 years ago we had the coldest winter... it was -10F ambient in the morning. I went to start my 4.6 2V V8 (Crown Vic) and it cranked up like it was 80F outside. The starter speed didn't change one bit. When i got to work, I checked the air temp and realized it was -10F.

I was running German Castrol 0W-30 engine oil (PAO basestock synthetic) at the time.

I've never had any cold weather starting issues either, it gets quite cold out here in the northwest suburbs of Chicago too. Even after sitting out in the open at O'Hare for 8-16 hours while I'm at work, the car fires right up. I do let it warm up a minute or two before leaving work.
