Don't buy a metal one cause they suffer from heatsoak and if your gonna buy the cai get one that needs a tune so you can actually get a gain from it instead of a showpiece. Jlt makes a great product

Hey, In a accident the intake broke so i am looking for a new one. Should i stay with the ford racing stock one or should I go after market?

The horsepower gain is 17 at the rear wheels.
Showpiece you say??

Just in case you think I'm nuts..

CAI's that require no tuning with the stock style meter gain thier power increase by fooling the meter and leaning out the motor.
I see the AFM N/A power pipe requires swapping over to the Abbco DBX mass air meter.
I've been told Steeda flows the best, i.e. best power. I'd do a dyno tune with whatever way you go. It makes one hell of a difference. I'm just not sure what that does with your Bullitt because that car has an adaptive tune that changes the timing based on the octane of gas it detects. Although that may be a moot point because 99% of all tunes you'll find require 91 or better octane.
I put an Airaid on my '07 CS and I could feel the difference with the first ride. Also the sound is better from the stock exhaust. i also did not use a tune as per Airraid it is not necessary.
Keep in mind that installing any CAI other than the Bullitt version will require an updated tune, so if you do not already have a tuner, you will need to purchase that as well. I would just stick with the Bullitt CAI as any improvement is really only going to come from the tune as any CAI will have similar results.
Here's an old thread that compares the Bullitt to C&L https://themustangsource.com/f669/08...esting-461832/

Your computer will get confused and will enter the a degraded mode (wrench icon will light up on the dash). You'll have really crappy throttle response and will only be firing on 4 cylinders. I ran into this when I first got my Granetelli intake and they sent me a bad wiring harness adapter (it was supposed to fool the computer into thinking the MAF diameter was the same as stock). When the adapter was bad, I tried it without it and got the wrench icon
If you add an intake which requires a tune, you'd better get it tuned. As Bob mentioned, all NA Mustangs will need a tune to operate properly.
I didn't want to tune mine because of the warranty. That's why I went with the PowerPipe. You may however need a tune with whatever you decide to go with.
Good luck!!

I world stay with the stock bullet intake. They are my personal favorite!
you already have on now.. There will be no difference if you buy another except you being poorer.. Get a tune for your intake you already have and your at the top of your power curve for cai's
I would stay with the stock Bullitt intake, but get a tune if you want more power.
Your intake is already an upgrade from the stock GT intake, and a tune will wake it up a little more.

You can get just the FRPP tube, filter and pan for about 250 sans the tuner which you will not need since you already have the bullitt tune.
