I found an annoying problem on my '05 GT and I was wondering if anybody else is having this issue.

I'll described the situation where it is most apparent but it happens in other situations. When rolling in 5th at about 65 MPH and I downshift in 3rd and floor it, the car takes a while before you feel the power kick in; you hear the motor rev but it takes about 1/2 to a 1 second before it really accelerates. Of course my car is manual.

It really feels like the clutch is slipping. I'm wondering if this is normal with the electronic throttle or it really is a problem

Any idea ?

Thanks.

I'd have it checked. I know when run from 5th to 3rd and put the hammer down, there are no dramatics...the car just takes off.

Do you smell anything funny when the problem occurs (ie: clutch burning)?

Was your traction control on or off?

This sounds similar to other posters. From what I remember, some are saying this is the TC, others are saying it could be the Elec. throttle. Of course other are saying that a tune gets rid of it.

I got my car Wednesday and noticed this yesterday. I turned the TC off, and it didn't do it.

Try taking the TC off and see if your car does it.

I always take the TC off so unfortunately it is not that. No smell either. Just the lag.

I need to bring it in for my first oil change and 2 TSBs ... I'll have it checked at the same time

In a manual, if the RPMs are increasing, but your speed is not, it is defently something in the driveline, most likely the clutch.

Just today I noticed that when I started from a stop it felt like my tires were spinning and then they grabbed. This would be ok if I was trying to spin the tires but I wasnt. They were not spinning, I was just easing out the clutch to start moving. It only lasted for a split second. It felt really weird. I thought it was nothing until I read this. I am not sure what it is.
