I haven't noticed any "popping" but I do hear a sort of "muffled rattle" when releasing the clutch pedal in first gear. I suspect a throw out bearing problem but will wait a while and see if it gets worse before taking it to the shop.

I can hear a switch clicking on mine from the area of the pedal. It didn't start that until about 500 Km. I had the same complaint with my '03 after several months but it was louder so the dealer replaced it. It was quiet for a while but then started to "click" again so I traded her in!

I hear that noise on mine also. Also hear it in reverse as well. And it makes a different "muffled rattle" when releasing the clutch while in neutral.

I had the throw out bearing replaced twice on my '03...now THAT made one heck of a noise!

I just checked mine and I think it is the clutch interlock switch you are hearing. No problem.

I see yours is only 6 weeks old...the switch should start making a noise anytime now!
