Clutch master cyinder
Hey guys a have a question the eyelet on my clutch master cyinder broke yesterday and I'm replacing the whole master cyinder when I get all this put back together do I need to bleed my clutch and break system or just put it on and go... just asking cause I need to know if I need to buy one them vacuum pumps too
The master clutch cylinder is a gravity feed from the brake reservoir. It's not involved with the rest of the brakes or the ABS. As long as there was and still is still fluid in the brake reservoir, you're good to go from there.
They simply say at this point to pump the clutch 50 times (yes, that many), slowly, painfully, over three hours. Well, ok, maybe not that long, but it'll feel like it. This gets the bubbles out, and is about all you can do. There's no actual bleeding on that system. It's a one way system. It goes from brake reservoir to the clutch master down to the throwout and ends there. There's no bleeder screw. So this is the only real method, no matter how you crack the system open.
That said, when I had my transmission out and put in the new throwout, I gravity fed the line before I put it on the throwout, then did the 50 pumps. Clutch is fine. You could get a hand vacuum pump on it, but honestly, the thing just kept bleeding out so I just let it for a bit.
Hope that helps!

Yes there is still fluid in the reservoir I just unhooked the lines from the clutch master cyinder and that's it so I should be good....I bought a vacuum pump just incase but if I don't need it I'll take it back or just keep it for when I do need it....
