The hood rod while resting on the cover and vibrating during driving has etched a scratch line all the way down the chrome radiator cover. My solution was to run a pin stripe down the path and finish it with a pony.

Gee Kevin... thanks for using my car for your post!
By the way each hood shock is held onto the bracket with two little wire clips. Remove the wire clip from the top and the strut will simply fold down and out of the way. I wouldn't recommend doing it for long periods but I've noticed that one strut does seem to be able to hold up the hood.
Bottom line is that the hood struts only get in the way if you want them to get in the way...

I love my hood shocks. I f I only had one mod of the car, I would choose that one. ............Looks great, serves a purpose, and wont scratch my radiator cover!!
If you keep the prop bar, you could use the soft part of velcro, and strip it on the prop bar itself, it would be hardly noticable, and keep the metals from touching each other.

you might be able to get some clear hose over it that will fit just right... you know the type used in fish tanks...slit it down the middle and pree the rod into it.. hey atleat if you are at a show you can pull it off and put it back on when it`s time to roll..

I got the radiator cover. Noticed the prop scratches when I put on the gas hood struts and removed the offensive hood prop.
As stated above; remove the clip and fold the hood struts out of the way if you need too.
:bang: Wish I'd got the hood struts 1st; then the radiator cover; now will have to figure a fix or replace the radiator cover.

Very nice touch. Adds a little something but maintains a classy look. Job well done.

So I just recieved my Steeda radiator cover....and have a question.
The good news is that I already have the RedLine tuning Hood Struts..so no worries about scratches.
I don't know how I feel about using silicon to glue it to the OEM cover. What if I need to remove it ? The cover "covers" the fasteners ??
