Check Your K-Member Bolts (or how I got rid of the Clunk)
OK my 2006 GT Mustang had a clunk, pop, click, metal on metal noise, etc in the front since it was new.
I installed the Ford Racing Handling Pack on my GT along with a new Steeda upper strut mount thinking the cluck was in the strut mount. No luck the front end still clunked.
Next I put new nuts on the sway bar end links; the cluck was still there.
Went to Brandon Ford (Great Dealership, BTY)) and they installed new lower control arms; the cluck was still there.
I then took the car back to the shop that installed the handling pack and they tightened up all the bolts on the k-member (they have had other mustangs with a cluck and this fixed it) and now no more cluck.
Moral of the story check your k-member bolts three of the bolts turned more than a quarter turn!
Hope this helps someone out.
