I have ordered the color sight unseen and have no worries. I also ordered Satin Silver last year without ever seeing it.
Glad you made yourself happy. Thats all that matters.

Dusty, your pic looks great, makes me want tungsten again, but it just looks different to me in person. Thanks for replying to my post.

Sure thing. We are all here to benefit from everyone's experiences. Keeps us all from reinventing the wheel! But when it comes to personal preference of something like color, you can't be convinced by someone else. You have to go down to the dealership and look at one in natural light--the light you'll be driving it in. Look at all the threads of contention because of the '04 show car color--I'll bet dollars to donuts they used a flourescent (or mercury vapor) lighting system that accentuated greens and blues ("cool white), instead of the natural type flourescents that tend to accentuate reds and yellows ("warm white").
Since the amount of metal flake seems very high in the tungsten color, it will react more to ambiant lighting than, say, white or black.
Whichever color you decide, it'll drive the same--and it drives like a dream!

Dave,
It's going back to the dealer today for the window tint and auto-dim mirror, and I DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT BACK!!! I love it. After driving the '04 F150, I braced myself for a huge increase in bone-shattering ride and decibel level in the cabin. I was pleasant surprised on both counts. Sure, it's louder than the F150, but if I can talk to a passenger with the top down going 65, I'm more than happy. I can feel bumps in the road, but it's more supple than I expected.
Great job FOMOCO! :worship: :worship: :worship:

John,
I've been waiting to change that Avatar since May!!!
Thanks for the nanners! It's going to be fun putting on all the mods I've been collecting waiting for it to arrive. I hate to give it back to the dealership today, but they're adding two mods I want the extended warranty to cover, so it's all good.

Well of course you are not going to have any worries. You are a female, so why would driving a "girlie car" bother you?
Please no hate mail. I kid.

You know, I really don't dislike any of the colors. The car could be primer and it would still look good.

Rob... one question. After you purchase this car, just when do you anticipate anyone will ever see this car again under flouescent lights? If you're happy with your decision, then I am happy for you. If you made the switch because of peer pressure... well... take a day off and revisit the subject.
"Search your feelings, Rob! Tungsten is your father, er... COLOR!"

PS: pitpup, I can't believe you scooped my avatar to modify for your own...
I changed my order monday after seeing a tungsten on a cloudy day. My girlfriend had her civic repainted a dark grey color that now looks purple most of the time, and i DO NOT want that. Seeing the purple undertones in the tungsten really turned me off of it. I'm a satin silver man now... Smooth as silk, my lady will be... pull her top down and bask in the beauty. oh and my girlfriend will probably like it too.
I've had my Tungsten Grey GT coupe for over a week now. I have posted my picts, in various light, conditions, etc, and are in the 2005+ forum under "latest picts of..." I've also seen other new owners post their beautiful picts (very nice Dusty1!).
A few comments for those reading this thread:
1.) Every picture you have seen truly "reflects" the dynamic nature of the paint in various conditions. This paint may not be for everyone, as with all paint choices, it is a subjective call. Those of you who have or will order tungsten grey will just have to accept the unique nature of the paint. For me, it's just a bonus.
2.) Is it a "girlie" color? Is it a "chic" color? as some people have suggested? Well, I am one guy who certainly hopes so, though we'll have to see. These comments are usually from the same people who say that Mazda Miata/MX5 is a "chic" car? What does this mean? I guess it means that women like these cars and also like to drive them. Ok, all else being equal and I bought the car I liked, would I rather have women coming up to me admiring my ride, or would I rather have men?
3.) Buy the car/color YOU want, and don't worry about your manhood, if it's not intact by now...your in for a lotta needless worrying.

Ok everyone, I started this post and now I'm back to give an update. First of all thank you all for your responses. I appreciate everyones imput. After waking up this morning I started having second thoughts about satin silver. I went to a local stripe shop and guess what they had in one of the bays, yes there it was a tungsten grey getting prepped for it's new vynal stripes in a pewter color. The stripe guy had one of the stripes laying on the hood and I immediately realized what a mistake I made. The silver stripes brought the car to life and, in my opinion, brightened it up. I called my wife and told her to shove it (just kidding) I called my wife and asked permission to go back to Tungsten and she graciously let me (yes I'm a gentleman). I should have gone with my gut and not listened to everyone else, but I'm glad I listened to everyone on here. You all are true Stang fans and know what you are talking about. The stripe guy is suppose to take some pics of the finished product and send em to me. When he does I'll post, Thanks again everyone. Ya know, I have been on drug raids, been in high speed chases, and dealt with a lot of things that aren't very pleasant, but nuthing has me frazzled like this Mustang does.........I guess it's Mustang fever.......makes sense I do live in Mustang, Oklahoma. Can't wait to take a pic of my 06 in front of the Mustang water tower. Thanks all.

By the way, my signature should now read Tungsten Grey to Satin Silver back to Tungsten Grey........I then told my dealer to no longer accept any of my calls. He is under strict orders to just call me when it comes in!

That is some funny s***! I went back and forth on the WV Blue and am very glad I stayed with it. I bet you will feel the same way with the TG.

As long as you are making a change based on how YOU feel about it, you are doing the right thing. Who cares what someone else thinks, it's not their car.
I wouldn't trust indoor lighting though, or dealers words for that matter.

So I'm not the only one who thinks the car would look amazing in flat black!
