Cervini's tail light conversion!

For any of you bought the Cervini's 2005 - 2009 Mustang tail light conversion, and have had problems with it, listen, this is for you. I bought this conversion in 2013, and within the first 6 months I had it, I had LED's in the center section drop out, (I always thought LED's don't go bad). Anyways, I contacted Cervini's, and they did take care of it, and shipped out the replacement parts. Now here's where it gets good. Within the next 6 or 7 months, I had the left side turn signal/brake light go out. This time when I contacted them it was a whole different story. They told me that there were no replacement parts available, and it would be 8 to 10 weeks until they come in. They had NO Concern about safety issues or concerns that it's not legal. I ended up installing the stock tail lights back in, and the waiting began. Finally after almost 10 weeks, no results, I filled a complaint with the Jersey BBB. Within a couple days I got a call from one of the Cervini's sale staff, and they did offer to make good. They offered me 1, a refurbished kit, (not to say it would be any better than what I had), the new designed kit, (still not available after six months), or 3, my money back, (a no brainier)! So, if any of you have this conversion, and have had trouble with it, (and I'm sure that I'm not the only one with problems), contact Cervini's first, then if no results, go the way I had to, file with the BBB! Pass the word, it's well worth the effort! :-)

So... let me get this straight...

You, awaiting parts or information, decided that rather than contact them because they didn't contact you... you would just not call them and go BBB on their behind parts?

Tell me I am wrong. Tell me you didn't actually *not call them for 10 weeks* and then go straight to the BBB.

'Cause if that's what you did...

I mean, you resolved the safety factor with the old lenses, so it's not an issue. You can remove that part from the post about their having no concerns, as there wasn't any. You had working tail lamps. No they weren't the cool ones you wanted, but you had a working car.

So what I get from this is not that Cervinis was a problem such that they had to have the BBB come after them, but that they had a bad run of parts, and much like the Takata airbags, they don't have any more. And that they were working on the problem.

They got you your money, but man, you held a proverbial gun to their head to get it.

They *said* 10 weeks. You didn't even wait that long. '...almost 10 weeks...'

A working relationship is both ways. You've sort of failed your side as much as they might have failed theirs, I think.

I might consider deleting this, if I were you. I mean, be a dang shame if Cervini and/or BBB were to read it... Or not. I don't know. Whatever.

I did wait, and they were contacted again, with no solutions, or concerns about it. If you Google "Cervini's 2005 - 2009 tail light conversion", you'll see I'm not the only one with this problem, and they did confess that they had issues with this product. As far as my fix went, I did have the stock tail lights on eBay, and I was lucky I hadn't sold them yet, and if you ever installed, or in my case, uninstalled them, you'd find out, not the easiest chore. I posted this not to slam Cervini's, but to try help the Mustang community! My problem began back in December 2015, and it's now approaching June 2016, and they still don't have their redesigned tail lights available, (after telling me 8 to 10 weeks). Do you think I'm still being harsh?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, all new lights when one went out. It's not horrid at all. A little clunky, but whatever.

I appreciate you're tryin' to help, I do. I still think you want a little ballistic, but then, I'm not on your side of the forum, and didn't go through it.

I got a hood from them, myself, in about October. The car was delayed in getting started on repairs because of the YRC truck shenanigans. The hood was in Houston at their depot for two weeks, after it takes a week to get in town, before it finally shows up. Truck broke down this or that or whatever... it was sort of unbelievable. But before I found out about what was going on, I sent Cervini's word, they sent me information, and then I contacted the freight company directly, and got updates. It wasn't Cervini's fault, but they worked with me *just fine*. I didn't ask for money from them... and if I desired to press the issue, I would have gone after YRC, but I chose to let it be, and just get the dang hood.

But you've now stated it's been a fiasco since December? Well, that is a whole other ball of wax, although if I had been told another 8-10 weeks (which is, let's remember, 2 to 2.5 months, which means at that point you would have had issues and gotten to that point over a period of 4 months, which is really really patient of you) I would have flatly told them no, and to refund me, end of discussion. Which... I still find pretty astounding. I mean, 4 months of issues... on a product that you bought in 2013 (which month?) and you got your money back?

Really? 3 years later?

That's... amazing. I gotta give ya props on that. Truth, they do have a 3 year warranty on it, but that doesn't mean money back guarantee...

Still, I think the BBB wasn't totally called for, but I'll let it rest.

Bulb replacement

If I read it right, you were able to replace the bulbs in the Cervini tail light conversion? If that’s the case, I’m about to pick up a conversion kit myself and it has a couple burned out leds. Could you give me a brief explanation of how you were able to replace them if you don’t mind. I haven’t gotten the chance to take it apart and look at it yet since I haven’t bought it but if it requires NASA level wiring then I probably shouldn’t buy it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
