I've noticed a lot of people checking out the car while at stoplights...ESPECIALLY so when me and my buddy (silverpony on TMS)drive both our Stangs at the same time somewhere...lotta double-take action from other motorists then!

I'm glad I didn't buy a GTO...it's a little faster but I don't want to drive a jellybean on wheels!

Yeah, you made the right choice. you can still beat a GTO with a little modification, and you're definately right about the looks. its all over the GTO in that catagory.

A Stang costs $26k, and a Goat costs $33k... There's a lot you can do with that extra $7k or so.

Yea, gotta love it. I've snapped a few necks driving around. There are not a lot of GT's in my area (or at least I don't see many) so people really give her the once over and usually the twice over
When I am out cleaning her, people walking by always comment on how nice she looks.

If I had a dollar for everytime I heard "nice ride" I could buy a Shelby.

Yeah this car turns heads. What always seems to happen is if I'm driving in the middle lane and want to move out to the left lane to pass. I'll wait for the car coming up the left lane to pass me but when they get to me, they just hang back and stare at the car. Helllooo, pass me please or hang back a little more so I can make my pass and drive

I've never heard a GTO called a jellybean on wheels, but it is little too conservative in its styling. Hopefully, the next gen ones along with the Camaros will have a broader appeal and better sales.

Everyone I know likes the styling of the current Mustang. It is definately a head turner.

I remember not even 1/4 mile down the road after I first bought the car from the dealer I had received 2 thumbs up. Not as many in a short distance anymore, but still do get the good old thumbs up. Oh and there's this dude in town with a redfire GT driving around with his head and fogs on, see him all the time, we're like road friends. I should prob tell him about TMS. I get a lot of looks, it started to calm down but then I got the stripes. The 3 coolest thumbs up I got were, This guy in his 60's was waiting to cross at a cross walk and I stopped to let him walk. He looked at the car and then smiled gave me a thumbs up and told me to drive so he could see the car. The second was from a High school kid, I was crawling through a school zone and when he saw my car he said "holy poo, thats a bad hiney car!" and gave me a thumbs up. The third is by far my fav. I was coming out of my local best buy and as I was going one way and coming the opposite was a 68 cobra jet, white with blue lemans stripes the exact opposite of mine. He looked at my car I looked at his and he both gave each other a thumbs up with a big smile. I got chills up my spine from that and almost shoved my hand through the glass to give that thumbs up. I love this car.

It's weird,

I don't get a lot of looks right now....

But by summer that changes.

It's like people don't think or realize what they are looking at right after winter or something...

New stangs startin to be common around here so I'm not getting as many looks as I thought.
I do get more when the top is down though

Agreed. I still get the occasional thumbs up, but this area of maryland seems pretty stuck up. If I drive to the next town over, I get a lot of looks.

Believe it or not I had been looking at GTOs and test driving them for a few weeks before the Mustang hit the lots (I have a GM employee in the family). I was literally picking up my keys to go to the Pontiac dealer and make the deal when the Ford dealer called to tell me they had just gotten 1 GT. The rest is history.

I have actually been paid more respect by BMW drivers than anyone else. I even had a guy in a Z4 get out of his car at a stop sign to come over and chat. The REAL drivers recognize the car and pay their respects.

I got quite a few looks before, but i just got my stripes done last week and now i get so many more. My favorite time just happened today at lunch actually. I was driving down the road and a Huge Pepsi truck gave me a honk and a big thumbs up. When the pepsi gods give their approval, you know you are doing something right!

I'll say MSRP since I don't know what ADM is. (Additional Dealer Markup maybe?)

My Z3 buddy at work is already asking me all sorts of questions. He sounds like he's ready for a Stang.
