I go to the state office to get my vanity plate and the lady takes a look at my forms and says "I hope you plan on operating this vehicle safely". I'm like, huh? Then she goes "Mustang, red, 8 cylinder, oh my!"

Oh yeah that was AFTER she soaked me for $615

Maybe that was a bad omen?

She's putting out an all points bulletin as we speak : )

Just one more reason why I avoid vanity plates, but I like yours!

Why so much in NH? I'm not familiar with your state laws.

NH - 'Live Free or Die' home of 'No State Income or Sales Tax' which basically means you pay through the nose for every other conceivable thing the state can figure out!

You guys don't even know what "Soaked" is....try CA...

Let's start out with 8% sales tax.....Yes, that's $2000 on your $25,000 car

registration will be about $500 (based on value, mine's a V6)

Gas.....Regular: $2.57, Mid-grade: $2.77, Premium: $2.87-$2.97/gal.

$3 to $5 to go across every bridge....

And so on......

Oh, don't forget about insurance.....We here in CA take pride in providing a free education to the world's greatist theives. :bang:

I refer to the NH/MA border as the border between capitalism and socialism.

Well I guess $600 for license plates is better than $1500-$2000 on sales tax.

That reminds me, I have to renew both my cars next month. I think for a total of about $70.

Maine is even better...after paying your 5% sales tax you go to get your vehivle registered and get hit with excise tax and plate fees. For those lucky enough not to have this tax its a tax for all the goodies the car has..i.e. A/C, Radio, Power Brakes, etc. You pay it every year and it goes down over time. Maine is now darn near the most taxed state in the US, and think its actually in the top 2. And yes Ca gas is expensive but you dont have to pay for something called HEAT when it does something called SNOW in the winter All around though even though we are losing manufacturing at a high percentage, replacing it with Walmart and McD's jobs, paying way too much for workers comp, insurance, food, gas, etc it is still a beautiful state to live in. We dont have tornados and hurricanes...once in a while we get the hurricanes but rare. All we have to deal with is the cold and snow and it isnt bad if you dress for it. And no darn snakes and spiders that kill ya when they bite either

Wow you paid a lot. Glad I didn't fork out that cash. I wanted to get the name of my company "BYTE-ME" but they thought it would cause too much road rage and I was not allowed to order them.
