get the car you want. i love my comfort group and sirius. do whatever it takes to get exactly what you ordered, go to another dealer. contact some of the salesmen on the forum, try to get the dealer to get the same deal you would get on the car you ordered. there is no reason to buy a car you didnt order. would an x-plan pin get you close to the same deal?

I was using XPlan anyway but since it was a GT/CS vert it was going to be close to 37000 anyway. That's why I'm reluctant to buy an '07 w/o incentives.

The current incentives end on 4/2, but I'd just about guarantee that they will other be extended or even improved. Remember January and February sales were down sharply vs. last year. I had my dealer re-order mine today since they botched the first one. If you hold out for an '08 you likely won't get any incentives and you also won't get your car until mid-summer!

If you're looking to wait just get an '07 at the model-year clearance in September or wait until the year-end clearance and save even more.

Otherwise, you can try doing a locate for the car you want. Ford customer service can search nationally, but then you'll have to deal with getting the car to you.

I'm surprised at the number of folks running into this problem on special ordered vehicles. You'd think there'd be order placement, confirmation, and pre-ship documentation to verify along the way.

There generally is. My dealer had me sign off on the VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation) sheet, but what I didn't realize was that he build a "bogus" order form for me to sign off on before entering the actual order. He screwed up when he transposed it. Of course you would think that either the guy entering the order or the salesman would double check the actual order. I was kind of blown away when I found out about the screw up. When I reordered I made him do it on the spot while I looked over his shoulder. I also got a copy of the actual VOC.

As far as i know these 'extras' can be added in at the dealership... when I was shopping the comfort group was one thing i wanted and one of the dealerships said that they could add that kit to it in house....

Sirius should be easy to add.... it's just a box/plug/antenna

The comfort group includes a power passenger seat - I'm not sure the dealer would be able (or willing) to add that in addition to the heated seats and mirror all for the same price of the comfort group.

And in any event, I wouldn't trust a dealer to add major components like that - heck, I'm a little nervous when they do an oil change!

If you really want the heated seats see if you can get the dealership to pay for it aftermarket. You can take the car that is there now and have the seats you want as well. They have to be willing to work with you since it was their screw up.

Look around or you can see if they will order from http://www.katzkin.com/05/FC/mainFS.html

Installers are all around and might be near you.

If they won't do that then reorder the car you want with an agreement for the same price you had before. There may not be incentives but the dealership ALWAYS has room to move down some.
