Burnout!
#21
At 850- miles I did my first burnout with this car, no brake at all, I never used the brake before. I was amazed at easily it spun, I launched it at about 4000 grand, then just kept it to the floor and shifted, unfortunately it went right to the rev limiter, guess I need to pratice...that silly limiter needs to be at 7 grand!!! i wanted to do this to see if I would get the wheel hop I have been hearing so much about, i got none at all, I had bought the Steeda street/race LCA's slightly used and I dont even no if I will install them if I dont have a problem...Can someone tell me about the wheelhop scenario and how I can reproduce it?

I have Nitto 450s also, with 275/50s in the rear, AND an automatic... and I have no problem roasting them. The pics below and this video were taken when I still had the stock 3.31 rear gears, too.

Road & Track experimented with different launch techniques and rpms to see what launch gave them the best 1/4 mile and 0-60 times, and they found that 2000 rpm produced "moderate" wheelspin and the best times.
At 4000 rpm launch, maybe you could keep the tires spinning but not get to the rev limiter so fast if you feathered the throttle?

you say you may need practice, but what were you trying to do? a nice smoky burnout? or a quick launch with a burnout?

I'll chime in on that one, I don't want a pure performance tire, they tend to beat you up a bit and wear very fast.
