Hello everyone, I have been watching this forum for a while now and just registered today.

We ordered a 2006 Vista Blue GT for the lady driver in the household on July 4th and would have had it by now if we hadn't ordered the 64E wheels. The dealer just received their first black 06 GT this week. We were informed about three weeks ago about the commodity restriction on the 64E option.

Once the pics came out of the 64W wheels, we wanted to change the order, however, the dealer has no "Official" info about them. Does anyone know if the 18" Bullitts are going to be available in Canada or are they only being released on the GTs for the US market?

Since it will be the fourth vehicle in a two driver family, we are not in a hurry to get our GT and don't expect delivery anytime soon. We are willing to wait to have our Mustang built the way we want it.

Hey Vista GT...

I'm assuming they will eventually come out... just not until after November (late availabilty)

Hope everything is OK for you in Fergus

Everything went fine for us last week, however the tornado came within a half mile of our house.

Yeah, I drove through Bolton that day. (the floodings)
And then I heard the news about Fergus.

As for the rims, I know a lot of dealers don't even know they exist because they were kept off of the first canadian order guide.

Once we have a part number for them...then you can go to the dealer and they'll look it up.

I would say November-ish is when they'll be available.

I'm expecting delivery in December or January if the 64Ws are available. If it comes in the middle of the winter, it will just be parked in the garage next to our other performance sports car until spring.

Not to jack your thread, but are you telling me FOR REAL that a dealer in Ontario already has a 2006 GT? Can you ABSOLUTELY confirm this? Also, do you have anything official on the commodity restriction for the 64Es? Any details would be VERY much appreciated.

Someone is going to get a beating soon.....

EDIT: I just found out that you are totally right: Reliable Motors :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

The sales manager who also orders the cars was told this by the dealer rep. Dealer rep also told him that of the 15 dealers in his zone, only one of them would likely get the 64E wheels right away. It likely has something to do with supply and demand.

The sales manager told me that if we were to delete the 18 inch wheel option, ours would be built right away. Since we are in no big hurry to get our GT, we'll just wait until we can have it built the way we want it.

I ordered a Tungsten with the standard 17" Bullits, (my expected build week is 8/29,) and inquired recently about switching to the 18" fanblades. He told me that only 8% are being built with the 18" fanblades atm due to short supply and it would really push my date back. So I stuck with the bullits, after seeing them on a tungsten they look fine to me, I just want my car!

thanks for all the info...i just don't understand if the fanblades are in short supply, why are they allowing people to order sets through their dealership parts counter for their '05s, but then hold back orders for '06s?

it makes no sense to me at all.

I don't understand it either. You would think that if there is a huge demand for something, you would satisfy the demand and make a profit along with it.

We want 18" wheels on our GT so we'll just have to play the waiting game

I guess to them profit is profit...
Which sucks, cause people are WAITING on these cars...

They had over a year to get these wheels ready (as they were delayed from 05) they shoulda been pumping these puppies out to have them ready...
They KNEW people wanted them...
Grrrrr

If his dealer in question is Ford of Guelph at the Automall I don't doubt it, with the 06 GT.

When the GT first came out, they had excellent selection and volume (originally from Guelph), perhaps like 15-20+ GTs.

The way I reckon, is some dealers jumped right-in for 2005MY and snagged as many as Ford could offer. Could be the same again with the 06's. The dealer up my way did that (Ottawa). The GM told me he ordered as many as possible. At one point in time they had 50 mustangs on the lot.

I believe Dixie Ford is another one that orders in bulk.

Actually, Reliable Motors in Fergus is the dealer that I was refering to. As of yesterday, that 06 black GT was still on the lot.

Well, I finally got scheduled today (I assume last Thursday) and apparently my car will have the only 18" fanblades in the territory (for a while at least).

Ford makes no sense, but I'm happy that I have my car anyways.
