Smile My Order, Updated

I have posted all the details in another thread (and I don't want to repeat everything), but as of 11:00 pm EST, ERL indicates my GT was released 9/14 with an ETA of 9/24!

I don't know why Ford customer service wouldn't have known that. My ETA has gone from 9/27 to 10/3 to 10/10 and now 9/24. Even after all the stories I have read in these forums, that is a lot of changes.

Thanks for all the support and encouraging comments.

ERL says I'm "on the ramp".

Gotta love ERL!!! Hopefully it won't be long now and I just hope it isn't raining when I pick her up.

I just wish the ERL system would work for me......Cochise, does "on the ramp" mean it's just leaving for transport or that it is at the end of the rail transport and awaiting pickup by the auto carrier and delivery to the dealership? Hope you get yours soon

Does anyone know when a "Certificate of Origin" is issued? I ask because ERL never said the car had been produced. My GT just went from a build week of 9/11 to released from factory on 9/14. With neither Ford Customer Relations nor my dealer able to tell me the build date, I was under the impression it was built and released on the same day. However, I have seen the certificate of origin and it is dated 9/6. The dealer seems to think that is when my GT was built. Any help would be appreciated.

Blue - hard to tell - but from what I've read/heard here your Mustang was probably built on 9/12 or 9/13 and released the next day on the 14th. There is no guarantee that the release date is the day after it's built - but that seems to be the trend. Both Coshise and my Mustangs were built the week of 9/11 and released within one to two days for transport.

Question

Hotlap,

I agree with your timeline. I was just hoping to know with certainty when my GT was built. The dealership does not appear to be much help. Without the window sticker PDF, I don't know where I can get the information. Are there any other records I should be checking out?

TIA
