Last day to order 2006 Mustangs is 4/7.
Last day of 2006 production is 6/2.
2007 Job #1 is 6/5.

Do not have order guides yet. Will post them when available like I did last year.
I would imaging tha tthe 2007 order bank will open around the end of March or so.

Is it just me or is that Job 1 date really early in the year?

Could it be job 1 for just the shelby's and the GT/CS?

Yeah, probably building the shelby's first... or because the plant can't extend capacity past 300,000 cars (200,000 being Mustang)
They have to play with the timeframe to amass the same ammount of cars + the shelby's...

Pete, correct me if I am wrong, but weren't they building '03 Cobras while they were still building the MY02 Mustangs?

Just seems to be a really early model changeover to me.

Really, where did you see that? The last official word from Chrysler was that it wasnt approved for production yet.

Yeah, there is another post, in the other vehicles section, that says the Challenger may be ready in 18 to 24 months. There is no way that the Challenger will be on dealers lots by this April.

Yes...you are right. There is no way they will be on the lots by april. I work in the Auto Industry{Manufacturing} The iinside scoop that I have heard is that the Challenger will be based on the CS Platform or commonly known as the "Pacifica" They havnt yet dedicated a manufacturing facility, but I can only speculate that the build will happen in Windsor, Ont and Chrysler will then incorporate flexible manufacturing within that facility. 18-24 months is a more realistic launch date as there are major re tooling issues to consider for that location. Hope this helps. Anyways.....the longer they stay of the road....the better. For now we will rule the highways!!!

The early Job 1 date is probably to get the GT-500 going as soon as possible. I wonder if the C/S will make job 1 or if it will be a job 2 car.

There have been rumors that both the V6 & GT V8 will get bumped in HP for the 2007 MY. Have you heard anything about that Ed?

The Challenger, if given production approval will be base of a shortened version of the next LX platform. It is targeted for production as a 2009 MY vehicle. If it makes it to the dealer lots by April, it will be April 2008.
