Are most of you (who can get the ERL to work) finding that your build/release date are the same....or at least within one day of each other? I ask because my dealer just told me that my GT/CS was built on 9/13 (Whoo Hoo) and I'm hoping that it has been released and is in transit right now

 

That's going to vary on how many railcars are available and how backlogged that they are and if they decide on another "quality hold". Some early build folks were on quality hold in excess of 1 week. There were something like 900 GT500's on quality hold (Ford denies this) for a clutch issue. They inspected 900 and found the issue on 3 of them. So, what I am saying is that it is not always a slam dunk...

Flash - thanks for the link to the shorty (14") antenna in your sig. I just ordered it - figure it beats cutting and regluing the ball on my stock one!

 

I love my shorty! Good reception and it is nice not having this 28" thing sticking up in the air. Only advice I can give on it is that initial "tug" on your old one to get it off is sealed with plumbers lock, and you might scratch the old one unless you use a wrench for that size. IE, don't just try and grab it with some vice grips like I tried to do. Dooot..

 

Thanks for the tip - I learned that (even with the correct sized wrench) the paint likes to chip off the antenna base during removal. Had to touch it up on my '05 when I shortened it.

 

I never got an actual build date. One day I got the Gate Release Date and the next day I got that my car had been placed on convoy carrier. So I am guessing the build day is the 19th based on the Gate Release date but I dunno for sure.

 

If you could get a PDF version of your sticker through your dealer, you will see your build date at the lower right of the PDF file in an area which is not printed on your sticker. Look at the PDF of my sticker (see sig) and you will see stuff in the margin of the image which you will not see on the sticker that they put in your car.

 

I called my dealer on Friday to get a PDF of the window sticker and he said he could print it and fax it to me (small dealer, never heard of the internet and PDF makers?!?). Anyways, he called me back later and said he couldn't pull the window sticker, not in the system. Now, according to the ERL, my car is in route to the dealer so this seems odd. Salesman said they have not received the invoice (DORA?) from Ford confirming they put the order in. Is my salesman full of it or should I be concerned?

Lastly, can any dealer pull my window sticker? If so, I'll try to get the VIN unless it can be pulled based on the order number method.

The PDF window sticker is available one week after you get a blend date (scheduled date). He must not know where to look. I have also heard that at some dealerships, they control access to this stuff to one person in the dealer for some reason. He may just not be the person with the correct permission.

 

I am having the same problem. My car was shipped 9/15 with an ETA of 9/25 and the dealer claims the window sticker is not available. Of course, when I asked about the window sticker PDF they looked at me like I had two heads. They say they have heard about that "Adobe Acrobat thing", but I don't think they really knew what I was asking for. Not sure how (or if) I will be able to get the electronic window sticker. Is there anyone on these forums who could pull the window stickers?
