Brake Fluid Reservoir Markings
I hear that the "new" reservoirs have the MAX mark approximately in-between the MAX and MIN marks on the "old" reservoirs. My reservoir came out of the factory only a few months ago, so I wouldn't consider it "old" because the original threads were dated early 2006.
So what is the deal?
My MAX mark is right below the top of the flat surface of the reservoir. In between the MAX and MIN mark is approximately 1/2" below the current MAX mark. At the MAX mark, fluid will seep from the cap and dribble all around the reservoir. I have not experimented with a reduced fluid fill level to see if it will slow or solve the seepage. I have a gut feeling the fluid is seeping through the slit of the gasket and out the back, causing it to flow down.
Does anyone have the "new" or "revised" reservoir to compare the height of the markings?

my build date was 5/3/2006, and the MAX mark is just below the top flat surface. I just took in it for the brake fuild leak, and they removed fluid so now the level is about 1/4" below the MAX line (but still ~ 1/2" about the MIN)... we'll see if this solves the leak....
