Both of my door clickers are broken now

After 3 years, both of my door clickers are broken. The loop part that connects to the key chain have broken off on both of them. Who else has had this problem?

Anybody tried these?

I've never seen one break. I had an '01 GT for 4 years and they were fine when I sold it. My mother had a '98 Mountaineer for 8 years with the same remotes and they were both fine when she sold her truck.

I bought a Fusion key off ebay like this one

Nothing to dangle around the column with this one, works great.

That one says it will not work for a Mustang. I think the actual key itself would work if it were programmed, but the keyfob part may not??

That's what they said at the dealer when they cut it, but all the buttons work perfectly. I programmed it in the parking lot in less than a minute. You just need to have your two existing keys and fobs with you.

I remember when I was a kid my grandparents had a TV with a clicker. An ACTUAL clicker. The clicker made a differnt pitched click for every button pressed. The TV had a microphone that would pick up the sounds of the clicks and change channels according. Thats how remote controls worked before infrared. Very Flintstones! Thats why they were called clickers back then.

No problem with mine. Hell I have them for my F-150 and they are both 11 years old and have not broken. Maybe you have to much stuff on your key chain or are to rough with them.

I've had this happen with my F250 I had for 5 years. I had way too many keys on them cramming them in my jeans pockets. Theres like (2) sides to it and first one side broke, and not long the other half broke. I just traded the truck in for a new one. LOL. Not really, but I traded it in because a F250 Crew cab 4x4 long bed, sometimes won't fit in a garage, and I hate leavning any car outside in the elements.

Interesting. I may have to give this a try. I would love to have an integrated key/fob.
